On The Move

With just a week to go before the transfer window slams shut there will be more scurrilous rumours abound, and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is helping to throw cats among pigeons.

After leaving Robbie Keane out of his 18-man squad (yes, 18) speculation over the Irish striker's future has intensified. But surely Rafa can't sell without buying?

Most of the papers are hinting the £19m man (cough) will be off. Especially after he didn't even go to the Merseyside derby after being left out of the squad, Check out The Daily Mail. Still, there's always David Ngog.

Over to our daily Manchester City segment now, and Robinho is back for showdown talks with Manchester City amid rumours he could finally move to Chelsea. Read The Sun.

And the Shay Given transfer saga rumbles on. Will he be able to get out of Dodge before time runs out? A £10m move to Eastlands will be completed, according to The Daily Mail..

Could Michael Johnson and Daniel Sturridge be leaving to make way for the surge of star names? Maybe Aston Villa will pay £10m for the pair, claims The Daily Mirror.

In one of the transfer window's more wonderful deals Pascal Chimbonda is heading back to Tottenham from Sunderland, and it also seems Spurs are trying to get rid of ex-Barcelona (!) player Giovani Dos Santos in exchange for Fred of Lyon. If you believe The Daily Mirror, that is, which also talks about Carlo Cudicini who has moved already.

After seeing Wilson Palacios and Emile Heskey leave, Wigan boss Steve Bruce has money to spend. The Daily Mail can see them signing Modeste M'Bami from Marseille. The Mail also links Hull City to Paris St Germain striker Peguy Luyindula.

Plus, The Daily Mirror expects Wigan to offer Jason Koumas to Cardiff City in order to capture Joe Ledley while the Latics have also signed Ben Watson from Crystal Palace.

Could Joey Barton be set for a £4m move to Portsmouth? The Daily Mirror thinks so.

There are plenty of teams keeping an eye on Leeds United's Fabien Delph, with many of the papers tipping Sunderland to make a swoop.

And finally, after scoring for AC Milan on Sunday, The Daily Mirror reveals the Italian giants want to keep David Beckham.

Dale Johnson is an idiot. Robbie Keane was rested for the midweek game. Just what I'd expect from this bunch of Moan U fans.

In Rafa we trust!

I was a die-heart liverpool fan. I am fed up with its performances now.Manchester United will be again champions this seasson and i believe that Man Utd will exceed liverpool as far as troffees is concern. I finished by believing that Sir Alex is a very great manager.I am always deceived infront my friends, because they are Man Utd fans and their head are always up.Liverpool will never be a team as in the 80's, it has become a dream now.Just commenting on the few last matches of liverpool, they are doing business with that team.Noone is playing with their heart to satisfy their fans.

Rafa has always left keane out. He payed 19 million to rest him on the bench. you might as well play him. Keane and Torres have chemistry they can score so many goals if they play with ach other

How can Robbie Keane already ne the subject of transfer rumors? Shouldn't a striker, with his pedigree, be given the chance to settle into a new team, new city, and new organization?

i am Liverpuldian since i was kid, i have been waiting for 18 years, and until now still can not see the liverpool player hold the premiership trophy??

Please see my message Rafa, Keane is good, but it's not good enough, we need a striker just like Robbie Fowler, who has killing insting on penalty box,and now only SAMUEL ETO'O from Barcelona who has this like former Striker Robbie Fowler..we still have a chance before to late to chase United,or we have to wait next season, again and again..

Message Boards are the worst thing to happen to the English Language since Spell Check (no one learns on their own). Anyway, I could have swore I just read someone attempting to say that Eto'o is the only player with ROBBIE FOWLER-esque finishing skills!? HUUUUHHHHH??????

Rafa has not made the right choice in strikers. Apart from Torres, all are flops... For LFC to be top again, we need to buy strikers who fit in our style. Eto'o, Santa Cruz, Tuncay, Adriano...
For me, Rafa's time is over unless he changes his stubborn attitude and gambling on low-rated youth, in expectation of them becoming top class players. How many youngsters that he has brought are to the level of the first team? Only Insua is good enough for fisrt team football. Lucas can only be a sub, as well as Ngog or El Zhar.
Rafa's policy is BAD. Don't be ashamed, copy that of Man Utd and we'll become No.1 in the world.
