13 days before we entertain Aston Villa in our opening home game, Martin O'Neill has 'done a Keegan' and walked out.

Is this over the potential sale of James Milner? If so it is a remarkable parallel to the circumstances that saw Keegan walk out in his last stint as manager. Surely the sale of Shorey has nothing to do with it?

Listening to a phone-in on the subject, the Villa fans generally seem quite pleased!

Well Villa fans, it’s a funny old game. I used to love going to Villa Park and quite liked Villa but the glee displayed by some of your fans when we were relegated is not forgotten. Remember your ‘hilarious’ Ant & Dec bed sheet banner? Well what odds on:

“Who is your next Messiah? Nigel Kennedy?” at SJP on the 22nd?

Villa fans don't know their arses from their elbows. Happy O'Neill has gone are they? They've had better form since his arrival in 2006 than I can remember for a long time before that so I'm not sure what they're so chuffed about.

Who will want to manage them now? I can't think of any high profile managers who would want to step into a job at a club that is apparently more hard up than we are, prepared to sell their best players without consulting the manager and, more importantly, in based in Birmingham.

Yes, he who laughs last, laughs longest and I'm in stitches at Villa fans who clearly don't grasp just how much of a sorry state they're in now one of the best managers in the prem has walked out on them.

Villa fans pleased with O'Neil walking out! Just like Charlton fans were happy with Curbushly leaving.....
