BREAKING NEWS (BEST NEWS EVER)

ALAN SHEARER IS NOW NEWCASTLE MANAGER!

Yes, that is correct, not an April Fools! Big Al is now the boss till at least the end of the season to see us through our remaining eight games of the season. Realistically speaking, he has no experience in management and very little time to put our season right, but if the Geordie legend's arrival doesn't lift the players, then nothing will. I am ecstatic and can hardly hide my excitement at the thought of my boyhood hero sitting in the dugout at St. James', regardless of how well he does. At the end of the day, he has nothing to lose, and will be backed 200 million per cent by the geordie fans.

I am shocked that he has joined under our current regime, but I suspect that his passion for the club was simply so great that he could not turn it down. The thought of his beloved club in this sorry state was eating away at him, like it has been for every Newcastle supporter throughout the land, and so he has jumped on board our sinking ship in a last-ditch attempt to pull us up and away from the sespit of disaster we now find ourselves in. He is a God on Tyneside and he can do no wrong. He will be supported no matter what happens between now and the end of the season, and every fan will, and should, just be grateful that he is back home.

All I have left to say for now (I am gobsmacked!) is Good Luck Alan, and a big THANK YOU! No matter what, every true fan will appreciate this much needed help in such desperate and unfortunate circumstances and with any luck, this news will give the players the encouragement and motivation that they desperately need in these important last few matches.

SHEARER! SHEARER! SHEARER!

(One last thing, cheers for all the comments and feedback people. It's absolutely fantastic to know that we have supporters from all over the world that genuinely care about the club as much as those who live in geordieland, really brilliant, so thanks again!)

SHEARER SHEARER SHEAER!

Posted by Peter Feldman on 04/01/2009

Rob: Just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know that the love for the team extends well beyond the the UK. Living here in Arizona, USA, I fell in love with NUFC after watching Shearer on Fox Soccer Channel playing with his bleeding head wrapped in bandages many years ago. I even spent my 35th birthday on Tyneside on 2 April 2005 to watch the lads take a brutal loss to Aston Villa as Steven Taylor got sent off and Dyer took a punch from Bowyer. My love for the Mags has never waivered. So happy to see the Shearer is back in his rightful place. I prey he can drag us up by our bootstraps! Keep the faith! Toon are worldwide!! -Pete

SHEARER! SHEARER! SHEARER!

The greatest new of all time! A light at the end of the tunnel. I am sure that even if there is no light, the favourite No 9 will dig us a hole to see us out of the tunnel!

All the best Big Al! You can do it!

This is probably the best news of the whole season for the toon! Although we should also take heart from the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, and the first 60 minutes we played against Arsenal. Believe me, our toon is a long way from down and out. Beware all you relegation contenders, you'll soon see why that label doesn't belong to us!

To know such news that Big Al is coming back really makes me wanna cry. I hate to see my beloved newcastle in this state i hate it. With Alan by our side this last 8 matches is going to be exciting just like when Kevin Keegan was there for us last season.

Hi Mate.

Yeah..here we go....i'm happy Shearer is manager, we are on another rollercoaster ride. But it does niggle at me, that i think Mr. Donnay should have done it a little bit sooner. I honestly don't think he will have enough time to save us. I feel we will put up a fight, win some points and play some good football! But i have a horrible cynical feeling that the teams we are ' relying' on, will destroy us. Every other result will go against us till the last game of season ( and i even think we will hammer aston villa!)...... but this year might be a heartbreaker!

Hopefully the rumour of a secret takeover linked with the appointment of shearer, is soooo true. I cant see why Shearer would do this job with ashley n co in the backround, obviously he loves the club, but how can he work with them, when he knows what damage they have done. So.....this is why i hope we have a takeover!
Because we all know what happened when the last legend managed us.

Howay the lads!

Cheers mate.

Club takeover sounds possible as well. Wise, Kinnear out, Shearer in? If only it were true. Anyways, Big Al gives NUFC a better chance of sticking around the premier next season. Howay the TOOON!

It says loads about Big Al's character that he has chosen to jump on board at this time to right the ship go down with it.

Despite testing times, the loyalty of the Toon Army is beyond question.

I have never been prouder to be a Newcastle Fan.

GREAT NEWS! Funny to read Peter Feldman's comment about making it to Tyneside for the 8-man loss to Villa. I like to consider myself a pseudo-geordie, having adopted the Toon as my team at the age of 5 (I'm now 21--today in fact) and living in Hong Kong. My birthday present back in 2005, while we were living in Dubai, was to go to Newcastle for that woeful game...anyway, just thought it was funny to read someone from Arizona (I now live in Chicago) also made that treck. =D

Let's hope for the best in the last 8 games...

Love to all from the windy city.
