NOTE: THIS ARTICLE WILL BE CONTINUALLY UPDATED THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER.
After being rendered mildly insane by the constant drone of the Vuvuzela, I've decided to step outside the psych ward and run a continuously updated Transfer blog that will shed fact and opinion on all of Milan's OFFICIAL SIGNINGS/SALES. No rumors here, you have a million websites to go to for juicy Milan related gossip that will never actually materialize (including my twitter account).
So far the transfer market for Milan has been as interesting as observing a stale piece of bread for five hours.
May 5: Milan signs Chievo defender Mario Yepes
- This news rivals the Ibrahim Ba signing in terms of excitement. An old Colombian defender in the twilight of his career. Did that previous sentence excite you? Apparently the thought enticed Galliani enough to make a swoop for a player who quite frankly, is nothing more than a backup.
June 18: Milan agrees to sell Marco Storari to Juventus for €4.5 million.
- I was really hoping Galliani would take off his blindfold and notice that Storari is one of the best keepers in Italy. Not many goalkeepers have better reaction times than the unruly haired Storari. He has been loaned out to 239 clubs in the Serie A, I'm not even making that number up. Check his wikipedia if you don't believe me.
June 19: Genoa GK Marco Amelia agrees to one year loan deal with Milan.
- Amelia was once tipped for greatness, and many so called experts labeled him the next "Buffon". After 2006 the Livorno side he played for was relegated to Serie B and he started becoming a Serie A nomad. Stints at Palermo and Genoa showed that he has the quality to be a top class keeper, but has quite a few concentration lapses. I noticed he excels at lobbing balls 80 yards to streaking wingers, often setting up Genoa's goal scoring opportunities with pinpoint goal kicks. However, a moment of brilliance is countered by one of sheer stupidity.
June 24: Milan reach two year agreement with former Cagliari coach Massimiliano Allegri.
- News we could see coming for the past month has finally been made official. Allegri was voted as the Serie A's top coach in the 2008-2009 season and had a mediocre Cagliari side playing some beautiful soccer which was always highly offensive.
July 14: Milan reach loan deal with Genoa defender Sokratis Papasthatopoulos.
- A name I don't ever wish to pronounce, so we'll just refer to him as Sokratis. The Greek International defender is a worthy backup comparable to Bonera in terms of defensive skill. The fact that the Italian sports site Corriere listed its header as "Sokratis to Milan!!" with exclamation marks, is an insult to soccer.
Check back throughout the summer for more official transfer news!

So with all this talk of maicon going to real madrid, would this free up Sergio Ramos? Would milan buy him? He's one of the best right backs in the world, and can also play center back. And Maldini endorses him as his replacement. What more do we need? get him!
 |
Posted by Ed on 06/20/2010
In the realm of realistic fullback upgrades.. do you think there's anyone worthwhile from the provincial sides who wouldn't cost so much?
 |
Posted by D on 06/20/2010
I like Ed's question. Keep seeing rumors over going after players from Brazil, eastern europe, etc. What ever happened to buying local? Of course you have to go after the best players across the globe, but it seems like Milan don't put as much into scouring their own back yard.
Could be totally off on this, but that is the perception. Are we going to turn into Inter who typically has 1 italian, if that, in their starting 11?
Hate to say it but Juve does a better job with the italian players.
 |
Posted by Matteo Bonetti on 06/20/2010
Clancy:
I don't think Milan would get Sergio Ramos. The pricetag on Ramos would be way too high and we know our newfound stingy nature.
Ed:
Right Fullback upgrades, there's plenty of formidable talent in Italy. There have been a few rumors linking Juventus' Caceres with Milan. He'd be great. Also Cassani of Palermo.

Hi Matteo,
I read that Lazzari has been confirmed together with the new coach and that other names like Matri, Lanzafame, Caceres and Hleb are also linked to Milan. Recently the biggest piece of non news was coming from Spanish medias reporting that Ibrahimovic wanted to go back to Milan but on the red and black side.....This obviously will never happen, not only for his price tag, but also for his "out of milan's pockets reach" salary. I don't think that Yepes is a bad move though, for sure he will be a much better alternative than Favalli, Kaladze or "always injured" Bonera. Zambrotta is having a second youth at the world cup, he has been the best italian player so far in both games, but will he be able to keep this rythm in the new season? If yes than we have no worries for right back. However we are still waiting to see what will happen to Huntelaar and who will be the so called big signing this season. Suspens, suspens....
 |
Posted by Matteo Bonetti on 06/22/2010
Milan 1963:
Zambrotta's resurgence has been quite the surprise of the Italian NT so far. I guess representing your country gives a player added stimulus. This applies to all teams but France and England, where it's the exact opposite.
Ibrahimovic would be a wonder signing but he'd never come. Costs too much. Lazzari is an interesting prospect and is one of the leading candidates to be brought on by Allegri from his former club. He has a wicked long range shot, and could definitely play the "Seedorf" role on our team.
 |
Posted by punditguy on 06/22/2010
So maybe Fabiano will be heading this way? I personally think its not a bad idea, However...he is 29/30 he only have about 2/3 years left in his legs at top flight.
Would also love if they signed Veloso! Can play as a CB or CDM and can be very creative going forward.
Amelia...im actually happy about this signing. Milan have been scouting him for some time now. Just hope he pulls himself together and BE the star he should be!
As for Allegri...couldnt ask for a better coach!
 |
Posted by Matteo Bonetti on 06/22/2010
@punditguy
Imagine a highly offensive formation consisting of Ambrosini and Pirlo slotted in front of the defense, Pato and Ronaldinho out wide with Borriello and Fabiano in the center. Now that's an explosive offense!
 |
Posted by Emmanuel on 06/23/2010
We need more players in milan
 |
Posted by Milan 1963 on 06/23/2010
@Matteo and punditguy
Yeah guys sounds good to me, but for this we really need a very strong defense.
Gives us a bit to be hopeful for something positive to happen soon.
Anyway as they say the best defense is the offense right!
Forza Milan.

Ac milan owner beslusconi his don't wan't to win cup
 |
Posted by NORTH FACE on 06/23/2010
Mate if we have such an explosive offense of..pato, ronaldinho, borriello and fabino.....
then we'll just be losing games(may be we'll win some by more goals but still)... cuz none of them track back......and our defense is not the same as it used to be ....so not the best of formation to choose.. i can understand 4-3-3 ...but not 4-2-4
what we do need is someone in midfield who is creative who can go forward plus can defend as well... someone like alonso (i'm not suggesting we should buy him - just an example)
Ps... i love your articles.
 |
Posted by punditguy on 06/23/2010
@Matteo
And i certainly would not put it past Allegri because he is an offensive minded coach after all! That would be fantastic! I know your LOVE for Borris is strong...lolz....but i would prefer put Flamini in that spot instead because of the fact that he run all over the field and make those crazy tackles like a mad man! And if we need a little more creativity then bring on Borriello. But the 4-2-3-1 sounds great!
 |
Posted by Chris on 06/23/2010
Since Allegri is our new coach. He should bring Federico Marchetti over. He's a really good keeper and is starting in South Africa now. I see a world class keeper in him and he is really young.
 |
Posted by Matteo Bonetti on 06/24/2010
Milanistas, interesting times await us. Allegri will turn our team into a hybrid "Milagliari". I don't know if that's such a good thing. Personally, I'd rather have a team-up with Barcelona or Manchester United. Cagliari on the other hand... Eh we'll see how it goes.
Either way look forward to seeing yet another ultra-offensive formation next season. Right after the World Cup ends July 11th I expect a flurry of signings to leave us in excitement/dismay.
 |
Posted by Rodger on 06/24/2010
Yepes is a good signing. Is he just a backup, sure, but that is what Milan needs. Nesta and Silva showed that they are a great pair, but nobody else that they ran out there last year was worth a damn, I watched plenty of Chievo games, and Mario is a solid player.
As for the keeper situation, I totally agree that keeping Storari would have been a much better plan. I wish he was in South Africa with the Azzuri right now. For both Milan and Sampdoria he was the best keeper in Seria A last season.
Milan have the team to compete, if they add depth.
 |
Posted by Tommaso on 06/25/2010
all this talk of right backs...but what about antonini? he showed a lot of promise last season and really made the rb position his own down the stretch, right? hes got lots of energy too, which is something milan need. put zambrotta on the other side with nesta and t. silva in the center. that sounds like a pretty good defense to me, and without spending any money, since that seems to be club policy now.
regardless, milan need to do SOMETHING! inter are making all the right moves these days while milan directors seem content to watch those ugly blue and black shirts collect all of the trophies.
also, we are going to miss leonardo as a scout. we need someone like him to convince more players like kaka and pato to come to the red half of the san siro.
 |
Posted by Tommaso on 06/25/2010
oh yeah, and it makes me sick to see inter with more scudetti than us. we have to reach two gold stars before they do!!
 |
Posted by Aklinu George on 06/25/2010
Milan should buy more young players for future reason
 |
Posted by Hisien timber on 06/25/2010
ac milan really need a young playmaker like mesut oezil from werder bremen,,
that is great chooise for all milanisti in the word
 |
Posted by Domenico on 06/25/2010
Allegri is one of the best young coaches out there. I think thats what Milan need they need someone to start a project and be there to see it all the way out.
Hopefully he can being in some young italian talent. We definatly do not want to become INTER and field a team of non italians!
In regards to the yepez singing, i dont really understand it. We keep coming out in the media saying that were going to go for the youthful approach and then we sign a 30 year old colombian? Comeon!!!!!
 |
Posted by Matteo Bonetti on 06/25/2010
@Hisien Timber
I love Ozil, actually raved about him on my twitter he'd be a perfect signing but I wonder how much his pricetag is.
Also, Fabio Coentrao (the hybrid leftback/winger of Portugal) is a very interesting young prospect. I'd go for these players right away..
Anyways it seems Milan is inching closer to an official Luis Fabiano move
 |
Posted by chris on 06/25/2010
I think Ozil would be an excellent signing. The only bad thing is that he is doing good in South Afria, which will most likely raise his pricetag, which is not good when talking about Milan. Another good name to get would be Arda Turan. It's surprising no one has picked him up because he is also really good. I also think Milan should keep their eye on Luis Suarez. He is doing work at Ajax and could be a good pick up in the future.
 |
Posted by ernie on 06/26/2010
let hope and pray that allegri can really bring ac milan to greater heights in the football universe!!And AC MILAN should really reinforce their midfield and defence!!

Well looks like the Bonucci campaign can stop. Good pick up for Juve.
Let's hope we get smarter and go after Ranocchia at least.
Suggest rescuing Motta from his now Udinese nightmare and (even though he didn't have a great WC) seeing what it'd take for Genoa to part with Criscito.
As nice as Ozil would be I'd rather have Honda.
Please tell me we won't spend the $ on Ibra - bad move to invest that much in Ibra when you could get so much more for the team with multiple signings.
If I'm dropping that much $ it's going to be for either Gerrard or Torres - both of whom should be attainable.
Sorry M but I still would stay away from Fabiano (short term solution at best and not good value for the $).
Speaking of strikers, KJH reminds me of Gourcouff when he was with AC. Kind of randomly running around out there not always clear on where to be, but with hints of talent. With YG it seemed Ancelloti didn't know how to use him. Could be the same with KJH and Leo?
 |
Posted by triftan on 06/29/2010
i wonder if milan could get javier pastore from palermo, he is a great and young playmaker.
 |
Posted by punditguy on 06/29/2010
They are NOT going to sign Ibra. Thank god for that. I really wish KJH could become that player he once was at Ajax. Then we surely would not have the need to sign a striker so we can use that money to strengthen else where. I wouldnt mind a striker such as Dzeko or Fabiano coming in but if KJH could step up and become that finisher again it would be soooo good for Milan. I hope Allegri could find a way to gel him into this side and unleash him!
 |
Posted by ernie on 06/30/2010
@punditguy:but allegri has stated that he finds KJH a surplass.but he is good reminds me of forlan when he wad at united, lost and ineffective but a prolific goalscorer at vill...what about neymar or ganzo??those are young and promising brazillian that could add weight to AC's attack..
 |
Posted by Milan 1963 on 06/30/2010
I agree with you Punditguy, I would love to see Dzeko coming but it would mean that all the budget will be spent for him and nothing would change. I would rather bet on KJH to wake up from his long hybernation and concentrate the transfer campaign on strengthening defense and midfield where we really need it. A solid defense and strong midfield will win you games considering that going forward we are already quite good.
 |
Posted by inter_killer on 07/02/2010
we need to find young athletic midfielders to replace pirlo and ambrosini because they cant back track fast enough and every other team in the champions league dominated the midfield against us, if it wasnt for ronnie having a great season milan would have not made it out the qualifing rounds in the champions league
 |
Posted by D on 07/02/2010
Hmm ... the Motta campaign appears set to stop also. Another good pick up for Juve. They might be reading this blog.
Anyone else notice they've assembled what could very well be the starting D for the national team at euro '12? (at least 3 of 4 positions - not even figuring if Buffon will tough it out) Used to be a time when Milan could claim that honor. The frustrating thing is the players were out there. Juve had the edge with Bonucci in that they gave up Criscito but still.
One way to salvage and make up some of the lost ground to Juve would be to go after players like Ranocchia (my new campaign target to replace Bonucci), F. Pisano (Cagliari) and Criscito. Masiello (Bari) would also be a nice addition (play either in central D or the outside)
Still hearing Ibra rumblings. Not good. Show of hands who would spend the $50M Inter claim it would take to free up Balotelli? I'd think about it. Dude is only 19 years old. In the right environment that talent would shine.

MATTEO...
What do you think about Joe Cole and Honda at Milan?
 |
Posted by Jason on 07/02/2010
I believe I read a report where Galliani said, "'What would we do with Cole? Milan have a very complete squad." First, we don't like transfer fees, but don't want to get a legitimate left midfielder for free? And what team was Galliani watching last year? Our 3rd place squad is a year older. I'm tired of us signing guys like Roma, Yepes, and Mancini. Let's pay those salaries to free transfer guys with quality instead. We need Cole, who would be plugged in the starting 11 right away.
What's the update on that Brazilian striker that actually wants to come to Milan? Are we leaving him to Man U?
 |
Posted by D on 07/03/2010
Does Yepes count as their one non-EU signing? I certainly hope not or that was a waste. If I understand the rules though I believe releasing Dida gave them a quota spot for a non-EU transfer in.
While I'm in full support of promoting local talent, changing from 2 to 1 non-EU signing in the middle of the transfer period doesn't make any sense. They just pulled the rug out from under those clubs already having made some deals.
The Honda idea seems to be picking up speed (although I wonder what this non-EU ruling does to that - what sparked my ? in the first place).
Read something about selling Ronnie and KJH for Ibra. I'm ok with selling the 2 of them, but not for Ibra.
As far as midfield, what about Poli? Seems to have a bright future, but not sure if Samp would part. I think Barilla has potential too.
Staying in the lower ranks but back to defense: I've heard, but no first hand knowledge of, good things about Ogbonno of Torino.

Milan should go after Joe Cole and Honda! Now thats a great addition!
 |
Posted by joe on 07/06/2010
i think joe cole should be perfect since we are short of cash!!!another striker another year,we have good talents......as we need more support for the attackers n defenders!!!honda another gd young talent for midfielder......should alegri try a new formation changing it with 4-4-2 seems like kjh not used to it???
 |
Posted by andrew on 07/06/2010
i say milan sells Ronaldinho, buys rossi and dzeko and get another solid midfield and try to buy a young winger like criscito or santon. considering we can only buy 1 non italian we use it on dzeko.
 |

i think millan should sign ozil n fabiano not ibra and they shold play a right formation

As a great fan of the giant AC Milan fc. It is never good news to me watching my great club lose matches mostly at home.
I encourage the management to do something pretty fast to avoid a repeat of that rubbish this new season.Thumbs up for Allegri. I expect new sharp players to team up with the likes of Ronaldinho, Pato, delightful Sedof,Becham,Pirlo etc to deliver AC Milan to the top.
Management should understand that fans are yerning for change and that change should pls come this season. AC Milan is big and must continue to remain so. I know we have a listening management. Thank you.
Looking forward to a great season for AC Milan.

Resigned Oddo to 2012. Trying to keep Mancini. Swap cash + Pato for Ibra? Stop the madness! Close the transfer window before the team gets any worse!
The Santonocito signing does sound like a good one though. 3 - 5 years. That's when we should see the fruits of some of these youth signings. Could be a struggle with aging/waning talent in the interim.
 |

AC MILAN, SHOULD GET PODOLSKY AND FIRE HUNTEELAR, DON'T MISS THAT OPORTUNITY, AND ALSO GET LUIS FABIANO, AND FOR MD OZEIL OR HONDA SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR THE TEAM.
 |
Posted by D on 07/14/2010
The continued rumors about Ibra to Milan are discouraging. If Ronnie does in fact leave let's all hope Man. U. beats Milan to Ibra so the club can invest the $ elsewhere (Dzeko, Honda, Podolski, Candreva, Ranocchia, Criscito, Pisano, etc.)
 |
Posted by Matteo Bonetti on 07/14/2010
Basically it seems that if Milan sells Huntelaar, then they buy Podolski.. And if they sell Ronaldinho, they'll buy Ibrahimovic...
An attack consisting of Pato, Podolski and Ibrahimovic has tons of pace and technique.
Allegri's preferred formation is a 4-3-1-2 however, so it'll be interesting to see who we would put as a trequartista.
 |
Posted by punditguy on 07/16/2010
@Matteo
I saw sokratis play a couple of times and i thought he did well. What are your thoughts on him at Milan and as a player?
I dont particularly feel to happy about the podolski idea and Ibra neither here nor there because he fails when it comes to big games.
So if Milan sell KJH, they should bring Dzeko and if they sell Ronnie, they should bring Honda. That sounds better!
Oh well......we'll see if dreams really do come through...
 |

Matteo,
Is the transfer of papa official? They were close, but Albertazzi and Oudamendi refused to leave Milan so the deal has not been made official yet.
 |
Posted by Aaron Bradley on 07/19/2010
I would love to see Honda or Oezil in red and black. But when I hear of people clamoring for a new striker I think two things: 1. Why? KJH can leave and open room for a new defender or midfielder's salary and Pato and Borriello are good strikers. 2. Why not another Italian instead of Fabiano or Dzeko, etc. Look at Giovinco or Di Natale or Quagliarella. Why not them?

Posted by Pagliuca on 07/20/2010
Matteo:
These signings are decent but if they want to compete for the Champions League and Scudetto we need to make more known quality sigingings. If Roni is going to go then we need to get Ibra. Also Nesta is injury prone despite his incredable skill. I don't think Yepes or Papa will be able to cover that slought affectivly as he could. We need to obtain players who can play at that level. Midfeild is probably the key, if we had speed in the midfield then our scoring chances would have been greater. We can keep the ball all we want but if there is nobody that will run in MF there is no point then. What we need is another speedy CMF that create and make those chances for the attack. If Allegri is going to make this happen he needs those players that have both world class and qaulity support in order to be competetive. With Gattuso getting older, Pirlo not as fast, Seedorf is ok but speed. We need players that could rotate/put speed back on. If not, another long Serie A year!
 |
Posted by koolguy660 on 07/21/2010
YOUTH! that is what milan needs! new starlets that are young and fast that milan can work off of for years to come. Guardado (23,winger)......Ochoa(23 GK)......Sebastian Giovinco (22-23,mid).....G, Dos santos (21, Atck mid).....Neymar(17,fwd).....Balotelli(20,fwd)......Yoann Gourcuff(24,Atack mid) MILAN is dumb for getting rid of gourcuff and kaka....we would be a super power if we still had those 2....

On a day when Inter announces a co-ownership deal for Ranocchia Milan announces the contract extension of Oddo. Something is wrong with this picture.
No one wants to make disparaging comments but it's hard not to with the moves (or lack of) the team has been making. The thing of it is too that a lot of the moves I'm frustrated over that Milan could have made (example: Bonucci, Motta, Ranocchia) were not high dollar moves that would've broken the bank.
One move that would be a big hit on the checkbook that I'm disapointed Milan aren't involved with is the Balotelli situation. Sad to see another young promising italian star leaving the peninsula (think Macheda, Borini, Mannone).
Anyone figure out if Yepes is their one non-EU transfer? Last time I checked Columbia wasn't part of the EU. Maybe they can pull off a Juve/Livorno Mutu thing to get around the rule.
 |
Posted by shrvs on 07/22/2010
a 4-1-2-1-2 wud be xtrmely effective for milan wit boriello and pato up front and dinho playmaking....the wingers can play lil towrds the centre.....and flamini in holding is probably the most perfect role he cud ever find

D/Pagliuca/Others:
Everyday I wake up hoping to see a miracle on either the Corriere or Gazzetta, announcing that Milan is close to acquiring a REAL champion. So far, my dream has been met with the disturbing realities of a 34 year old Colombian defender, and a Greek whose name I cannot even begin to pronounce.
 |
Posted by Pagliuca on 07/23/2010
Matteo:
I agree with you. Those guys we signed are just back up and late game "tampons". But they're not full starters to go against an Inter or Juve in the league. Nor are they qauality against a top ranked Cl team. Either our President is that naive or disillusional about this current team's state otherwise they would have spent money to aquire someone like Ibra, Vidic, or Chillini. Instead they're buying players near their end or not proven youngsters. Is it that "bad" when Napoli, Fiorentina, or Palermo have more of a transfer budget then we do. Is it that bad? Because if it is Silvio should either sell a stake in the team or sell it as a whole. I just don't want to see this team end up in Serie B or fighting out of relegation. I'm still dumbfounded that other teams can aquire Italy's hot prospects and he acquires twilight players or questionable mediocrity. Again for the inth time either Silvio opens the wallet up or Milan will sink into obscurity.
 |
Posted by D on 07/23/2010
We may just get our wish (or one of them at least). Exciting news on the horizon. If the reports are to be believed and Honda does in fact come then I won't say anything negative about the administration's moves for the remainder of this transfer period. They can even bring back Favali and I won't complain.
 |
Posted by Matteo Bonetti on 07/23/2010
Pagliuca:
Late game "tampons" is a genius way to describe these signings. It's ridiculous to see teams like Udinese have a more productive transfer campaign. While I wouldn't worry too much about Milan finishing in the Serie B, I would worry about a long "dark" period ahead for the team. Remember the time when Milan was a Champions League favorite coming into every season? Now our target seems to be third place in the Serie A, and it's evident by the transfers thus far.
D:
I really think Honda is overrated. I watched him in the Champions League and wasn't too impressed. I have my doubts whether he would excel in a team like Milan.
 |
Posted by Pagliuca on 07/23/2010
Matteo:
Thank you, I totally agree about being favorites very year for the CL and convincingly so. Actually, we "would" have defended the title back in 04 (Porto won) if a certain "genious" owner hadn't stuck his nose in Anco's business to a point saying Milan played "eh". "I want to see a 4-4-2 instead of Anco's xmas tree". That reflected in our 4-0 loss away putting our 4-1 win as a joke (vs. Deportivo). If we would have won that game we could of beat Porto in the Semi's and quashed Monaco in the final. Regarding Honda, World Cup is one thing CL and the League is another. Can he play like Rui Costa, Genio, or some of the other greats? I don't knwo if he is Milan material. I would have preferred Pastore instead. Here's my question and you may know this is Albertazzi that good? Is that kid a product of the system that will be another Bili? Sempre Magico Milan! ;)
 |
Posted by D on 07/23/2010
Have you seen some of Honda's goals? His free kicks are Pirlo-esque (and I'm not just talking about the WC goal vs. Denmark). Check out the movement on the ball from his free kick against HK a few years ago.
Dude has great vision and pace and should be able to run at teams.
Btw big Pirlo fan but he seems to be off his game the last year or so.
As far as Honda's CL performance - didn't like his rocket free kick against Sevilla? Had Palop shaking his head in disbelief. He also had the assist in CSKA's other goal in that match.
Can play up front, on the wing opposite Pato, or behind the strikers.

I know AG said that the team is set, that there will be no more signings unless somebody leaves, but can he be serious? Did he see them lose to Varese today? 2-0 to a just promoted to Serie B side, and it could have been worse. If they need to sell, can somebody pleses explain to me why Kaladze, Oddo, and Jankulovski are still on the team. I mean they should be able to get a bag of old balls for the three of them.

MATTEO
Just looked at Varese vs Milan highlights and we lost 2-0. It was 2-0 before the half. And boy do we NEED to get rid of Kaladze! He is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On the + side there was a kid wearing #54 t-shirt, i dont know who he is but i certainly like what i see! The kid is amazing!!! I was most impress with him! Can you give me some info on him please?
This is he link. He played in the second half.

I'm 37 and have a decent touch. Think I can get a look in at Milan? I'd be pretty cheap, indeed it'd be a free transfer.

Fortunately I didn't watch the Milan-Varese game, I had other obligations. If I had there's a good chance I would've poked my eyes out with hot needles. The result is laughable. Varese gave us a hard time in the Coppa Italia too last season
Are you talking about Simone Verdi or De Vito? I'm not too sure to be honest.
Lo Sconosciuto:
You sound like the right candidate

According to the Milan Wikipedia page #54 is Nnamdi Oduamadi. He is Nigerian
 |
Posted by Rodger on 07/27/2010
#54 was Nnamdi Oduamadi who lead the youth team in scoring last season. He was part of the package to get Papasthatopoulos from Genoa. Milan also gave up Zigoni and Strasser in that deal. Yes I know they only gave up half ownership, but does anybody think that we will ever see any of them in a Milan shirt after Genoa offers Silvio a couple of euros next year? If that turns out to be the case Papa better be the second coming of Baresi. The Primavera were an excellent side last year, a huge hope for an injection of youth into the team. And now three of the best are half owned by Genoa. But look at the bright side, at least we still have Kaladze.
 |
Posted by superpippo on 07/27/2010
soccernet says 54 is Ikande Harmony, but wikipedia says it is Nnamdi Oduamadi. The official milan site doesn't have numbers up for this season yet.

he is a attacking mid?

AC MILAN management should go for coaches like FRANK RIJCHARD former Barcelona coach. He will make great inpact in Milan.
 |
Posted by punditguy on 07/27/2010
Actually it was Odumadi. He's from the youth sector. With him and Verdi they looked dangerous. If only and i hope Allegri give them both and De Vito some good playing time i think they will be the stars of the future!

milan need to get a player that plays like ozil or honda and to be in his early 20s and just starting to get into his prime and he needs to be very underrated. that's the only way milan will sign a player with lots of talent if he is very underrated and who has a low pricetag. what do you think matteo?
 |
Posted by punditguy on 07/28/2010
How about Ben Arfa or Andrea Poli? I think they can get either one of those players for no more than 10MIL.

inter is the best meelan sucks
 |
Posted by KoolGUY660 on 07/29/2010
How about Giovanni Dos Santos from mexico.....
21 years old...
brought up through the Barcelona youth academy
He plays great on the national team.....
Underrated,Tottenham dont use him and hes always on loan to other teams...
so we could get him for cheap i think..
He is a amazing attacking mid/winger/Forward/Left footed player..
what do you guys think?

Hi MB!
Long time no see. Just wonder how u see Milans chances in the 2010-2011 season and what tactics and players Allegri's gonna use.
Tnx and peace.

Milan need young player coz milan had a bunch of aged player..for example, macheda from MU..His performance for MU is quite impressing and he's italian too..or rossi from villareal..ibra to Milan????thats impossible..maybe when he's in 30..edin dzeko also great capture for milan..Cristian Zapata also good player..he's tough..
 |
Posted by agagagaga on 07/30/2010
Actually, milan got alot potential in coaching, trainning and most important is strategy. But milan lose something, they got no tough and dont have enough supermasive play maker like pirlo. One play maker is not enough. So,why dont milan just make some spend to get a young player to prepare for "future pirlo"..Because Andrea Pirlo are really great and super playmaker has born in italy. So,take a deep search on looking for young future star just like Andrea Pirlo. And milan also need some creative defence like john terry, nemanja vidic, carlos puyol and rio ferdinand.

Hey Matteo,
I've only been a Milanista about 3-4 years now so I am not accustomed to amount of extreme skill we used to have 80s - 90s. Been watching a lot of classics as of late though and I'm noticing we don't play anything at all like we used to. Much of the pace, and arguably passion, is gone from both the players and the coaching staff and I'm not so sure even throwing money at the problem can fix it anytime in the near future. Milan has never been a team to rest on their laurels in the transfer market, always splashing necessary cash on players and i was wondering what, in your opinion, can help restore Milan to the skill level AND class of old?

Emirates cup arsenal 1-1 ac milan, still can't see any improvement in milan games...
 |
Posted by punditguy on 07/31/2010
Matteo
Didi u watch the game today? We know the usual Milan (of these times) and what to expect. So im gonna look at it from a different angle...im being optimistic...well more like trying to be positive.
I was very surprised to see Allegri bring in so many young players! I really got excited by that and i must say, we have a very bright future with our youth players! They changed the entire game when they came on. Merkel and Strasser were great for the little time they came on, especially Merkel! He came in for Gattuso and fall into play as if he has always been a senior member.
Im not happy about our tranfers thus far but i am very very VERY happy about our youngsters! Kudos to Allegri!!!
 |
Posted by KoolGUY660 on 07/31/2010
Barcelona just let Mexican captain Rafael Marquez go...
Milan should go after him right away!
he would be a free transfer and hes still one of the best defenders out there!
what do you guys think?
 |
Posted by salguero on 08/01/2010
AC Milan should make an attempt to get el nino torres from liverpool he doesnt want to be there and it would be a force to recton with in the front with Dihno at CAM Pato at RW Borrielo at CF and Torres at LW

i think ac milan should invite antonio nocerino as soon as possible

Posted by asrimy on 08/01/2010
I think milan need 1 more center defender after i watch the Emirates Cup i feel Milan maybe have a problem with Center back when the Serie A league will started...my opinion if Milan need the Center back my suggestion is Diego Lugano from Uruguay now he play for Turkish club Fenerbache

Matteo:
Saw Emirtes Cup this weekend, I have to admit we did not look to bad. Of course we need some tweeks here and there but overall I was kind of surprised and impressed. I think we still need another MF but let's see what Allegri does for us so far.
 |
Posted by Matteo Bonetti on 08/01/2010
punditguy:
How about our midfielder Merkel from Kazahkstan? VERY NICE.
Either way I wouldn't make too much about these pointless friendlies. Once the Serie A gets underway our squad will know what to do to get the victories. Our starting 11 (if healthy) can compete with any team in the world.

Posted by ernie on 08/02/2010
heard that milan is going for Giovanni Dos Santos with a swap for huntelaar..is that even remotely true??and just wanna ask is that really a good choice??i mean he is speedy and can really torment defenders..
 |
Posted by Olamide tope on 08/02/2010
Now, will all what milan need after the EMIRATE cup, will milanistic no that will need a playmaker, i think in defence should let go players like jan, khakha, and zabro to give the young players the chance they need.
 |
Posted by DOMENICO on 08/03/2010
FLAMINI NEEDS TO BE A REGULAR IN THE MID! WE NEED TO SIGN ANOTHER DECENT MID AND DEFENDER!
 |
Posted by punditguy on 08/04/2010
Did i see Merkel??? He was the only one i was looking for!!! He was the best on the field in my opinion. The way he moved and positioned himself. I even saw him drop back and defend and made some nice clean skate tackles. He is fast, skillful and strong! Allergri should play him and Verdi more often. In some instances they should also give them starting roles.
After looking at them play in the Emirates cup im very optimistic. When all hope was going out the window these guys show up and made my day. Even tho our summer transfer as been boring these young guys bring some hope for us Rossoneries! (Alexander Merkel, Simone Verdi, Rodney Strasser, Nmadi Odumadi and Michelangelo Albertazzi)....remember and look for these names my fellow Rossoneri brothers and sisters, we have a bright future. Mark my words!
P.S. Merkel is half German and half Kazahki. But i saw on Wikipedia he played for the german under 17 and currently playing for the U-18 side.
 |
Posted by punditguy on 08/04/2010
My only concern is that we dont sell these players and keep them. And also now that i see these kids play i really hope we dont sign anyone to young and good. Meaning....if these kids continue to perform and progress and get better and better, and we bring in new talent then whats going to happen? Will they sell them or bench them. Because obviously they would want to play the one's they spent money on to bring in into the club. So i hope that these kids learn all they can from the likes of Seedorf, Ronnie, Pirlo, Inzaghi and Gattuso. Because when they go it will be an easy transition.
But hey only time will tell.
Let me know what you all think...

Punditguy:
Merkel was undoubtedly a shining star on the field. Seems like a very versatile midfielder, and yes your description of his characteristics is spot on.
Also, for the sake of me making Borat jokes throughout the year, let's keep on pretending that Merkel is purely Kazakh. I wouldn't be surprised to see most of these young talents being loaned out to Serie B sides where they can gain valuable experience. After all, that's what we do with a lot of our youngsters. Too bad most of them haven't developed into anything worthwhile (see Di Gennaro).
 |
Posted by punditguy on 08/05/2010
I honestly never really like Di Gennaro. He just never really stood out to me. He always looked shaky. But as for Merkel the way he moves its so smooth. The way he controls the ball lays it off when setting up goals is almost perfect and he is very unselfish! There were 2 instances in the Lyon game where he could have probably gone for goal and he decides to pass it off.
I really do like him. I maybe over exaggerating but he really reminds of a certain Xavi Hernandez.
LOLZ about the Borat jokes!!!

Yea i also heard that KJH could be traded to tot for Giovanni Dos Santos + Money....
whether the deal happens or not i would love for GDS to come to Milan....he is a Speedy nightmare for defenders and would be a perfect winger/Midfielder to play on the other side of Ronaldinho as they both have similiar playing styles...

I think that milan need young player,we need midfield power for us to to well in champions league to much old player bring in ibra he will fit in well, pato will be the player to watch please dont sell him i think heelteller must be sold so we can get edwin from wolsburg, milan can

Milan have some great youth players coming up that will be the future spine of the Rossoneri. Rushing into market purchases will derail these players development. We train the young players so we don't have to spend 10-15 mil on each position. How much did we spend to buy Maldini? Nothing. KPB is a necessary buy. Other than that, let the primavera players step in.

Sokratis isnt that bad, he's quite okay and great backup for Nesta! and he can play as right back too..
We've strengthen alot this season, and Merkel+odu+strasser has shown promising future.
So be optimistic about our beloved club AC Milan!
