This is the first installment of a new section in which I shall be interviewing football fans from around the world about United.
This week:
BRAZIL
Andre Mendes, 20 years old, Sao Paolo, Brazil
Do you follow English or European football?
The Brazilian players. Mostly I watch Italian soccer there are more Brazilian players there. I saw the cup final between Manchester and Chelsea in the Champion..s League.
What did you think?
Really good, very emotional. It was one of the best matches I have ever seen. Everybody expected a lot from Ronaldo. I also remember the game in 2005, Liverpool vs Sao Paolo. We beat them. Before the game Gerrard said ..it will be easy.. Everybody in Brazil was very angry about this. We don..t like Gerrard.
What do people in Brazil think about MUFC?
They are one of the biggest teams in the world and they have a lot of friends in all countries.
People love Man U. It is common to see people wearing the shirts, especially Rooney and Ronaldo. And there are a lot of Tevez fans.
In Brazil?
He was the player of the year when he was at Corinthians. A great player.
Do you think Ronaldo is the best player in the world?
Actually no. For me its is Kaka or Messi, but Ronaldo is on the same level. He did nothing for Portugal against Brazil.
Who do you think will win the European Cup this year?
Milan have an amazing team but they are in the UEFA cup. Manchester maybe, Chelsea maybe, Barcelona are having a good season.
Do you like Scolari?
Yeah, he is the second best after Luxembergo. Scolari will train Brazil again in 2014.
What do you think of Rooney?
Sometimes immature, but he is a wonderful player. That..s why a lot of fans in Brazil wear Rooney shirts. He has a lot of fans in Brazil.
Do you think English football is the best in the world?
Alongside Italian maybe. This is the big problem. We have a lot of great players but we sell them to Europe. They are trying to make a law to prevent it. I don..t know what we..ll have in the future. In America, we are the best for sure. The best thing about the league in Brazil is that you never know who will win the championship. You don..t see this in other places.
Anderson?
He is really good. He has a bright future. We expect a lot from Anderson in the future along with Pato in Milan and Lucas at Liverpool.

I am a MU fan since I was 15 now I am 55. I follow up every game. MU history is very great and their recent run of success is mainly owe to their manager for his wisdom and matchability with modern football. This you can not find elswhere. I have been watching Best, Charlton,Cantona, Robson, Hughes and new lads. The success of MU will continue as long as Fergy is on power despite all enemies surronding them.

I have been a United fan for the past 14 years and counting. The EPL hands down, best league in the world in recent years. Although the Spanish Primera and Serie A are right behind them as far as world class talent. But from top to bottom, and due to the English Clubs' success in the Champions League in the past few years, make them the superior and more competitive league. If it wasn't for FSC or Setanta Sports broadcasting international football here in the states, I simply would not have any interest in the beautiful game. MLS, sorry to be negative, is absolutely dreadful!!....United for 4 more trophies in 2009!!!! Mark let me get an interview for the USA!!

Love to see another outside England United's fan. I come from Indonesia, here we're also support teams from European Leagues. Mostly England, Italian and Spanish Leagues.
Personally, I'm happy to see EPL clubs sign various players from around the world. They give various playing styles, the results are attractive and strong clubs. We saw that EPL clubs are dominant in Europe.

We all love the Premier League in my family. My husband and two daughters like Man U the most, for me it's any team that has Michael Owen. Wayne Rooney, Ryan Gigs, Paul Scholes, Patrice Evra, Vidic they're all great players. I like watching Man U the most when Rooney plays because he has that special something that really can make the difference in a game. Ronaldo - not so much. While I think he has managed to curb his enthusiam about himself somewhat he's still too selfish a player. But they're all great players - you don't make it to the Premier without being really good. On a side note - I do miss watching Brian McBride play for Fulham.

Manchester united will never stop being in the first or second place. Not untill fergie is gone. Then maybe there will be a tumble. But to my perspective i think man.united are the best and will continue reigning the premiership...And for arsenal i think they may take acouple of seasons without seeing the trophy unless they but real quality players...

I've been a ManU fan for umpteen years. Actually I liked Everton. But when I watched ManU play, I was seduced by their style, creativity, free flow passing and ruthless attacking football! Oh, man! They definitely are a class apart! Looks like they really have a good chance to go one better than the 1999 treble! Manu will still reign even if the gaffer leaves. Bec he will make sure the man who takes over him is as special as him too! He always wants a WINNER at heart!
For me, my fav player is none other than Ryan Giggs! He is the ultimate role model for loyalty, grace and humbleness! HUSTLE! ROYALTY! RESPECT! That's what he is all about! It's really amazing that after almost 2 decades, he is still playing amazingly well and still involved as a #1 team player. He seems to go on and on forever! Oh, man, I really missed his zigzag wavy runs on the flank!
Well, Rooney is back and so is Evra! United should become even stronger and the clean sheet & winning streak should go on! UNITED!

Its not unusual to see ManU fans all over the world, cuz they are a club which is meant to make their fans smile and be satisfied with which they offer to their beloved fans..

I agree that as long as Sir Alex is in charge Man Utd will continue to collect trophies be they European , World or English.
Sir Alex has a storage of experience he uses anytime he needs.
He brings growing players and mixes them with experienced older ones. In Man U there is a good succession plan unlike Chelsea where ther are hardly players from their academy.
I have been a Man U fan since when I was ten yrs old when our class teacher gave us a day off because Mn U had crashed and some seven or so players died. I became interested as I was playing as wing right for my class.
I am now 60.5 born on 15 June 1948. My wish is one day to pay homage to Old trafford. What a day that will be!

I'm an MU fan for almost 20 yrs now n I come from Indonesia. I just want to express thank u from the bottom of my heart whoever made it possible for the team to visit Indonesia this summer. I've been to OT n see the team play but to see them playing in my home town will be an exciting experience. My all time fav players are Sheringham, Solksjaer n Giggs... Maybe not many would give much of the fact that MU IS the club's world champion but 4 me it really means a lot... The more that they are able to prove it with their good runs of lately....

Hai,
I am a Man Utd fan since 1985 and it gives me greay pride to say that i am glad we are the best in History, Nineties, now and hopefully forever. It all goes down to the way the club is managed, for example if your kids are well brought up then they will become successful. Every player needs a great manager like Sir Alex to be successful for his a straight men and no wonder when a player leaves Man Utd his lost his charm but will always be well respected due to the club he previously was in! Fergie always says "Ain't nobody is bigger then th club" and never ever bite the hands that feeds you.. I love soccer and love managing too but I am looking for an oppurtunity and trust me through my beloved club I have learnt all the tricks to be a great manager one day and i hope it will be very very soon. All other clubs dont deliver results because there is never a player nor manager who is loyal and focus. Remember Real Madrid can go hiring the best managers but it will never last...

I also love Man United because of the history behind the team. This team is all about winining and winning. Ferguson is the greatest club manager. Giggs, Scholes and Van De Sar are urged to pass the experince for the team to continue to be the best for the next 10 years.

While the current batch of players definitely would make a World XI anytime, my favourite player ever is still Brian McClair. Younger fans may not remember him, but I'm sure all of you would remember Beckham's goal from the halfway line - McClair made the assist for that one! In his heyday he was one of the league's most lethal strikers, and I enjoyed watching him with Mark Hughes playing together. While I'm eternally thankful for Sparkie for leaving Manchester City in the mess that it's in now, I love Choccy for being on the United ranks again!

Scholes is my fave player, but when I first started following United, I was mesmerized by one Andrei Kanchelskis... wonder what happened to him?

A fanatic, staunch and any other word of support and love you can think of i have for MAN U.I started following MAN U not long a go, it is just far back a year when we demolshed ARSENAL 6-0.I could not hide my joy for that terrific and entertaining football that evening.I can't wait to see MAN U sweeping all the trophies they are vying for this season and beyond.I cannot say of MAN U without given credit to the Gaffer, may he continue to steer this team to success up to the time i will stop watching United to avoid heart-break, cos i relish every moment of united football.
I am such a gregarious someone, as such i would like all UNITED FANS ACROSS THE GLOBE TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH ME VIA THIS E.MAIL:hashim4i@yahoo.ca. I am a Nigerian by birth and everything, an indigene of Kaduna State from an ancient city of Zaria, Zaria local government. What a historic city. May Allah fulfill my dream to turn Zaria into an edifce. Amin.

11 titles! Hey! Doesn't that adds a lot of meaning to Ryan Gigg's shirt no? Yes, and it shouldn't stop there! They must ecplise the kops record of 18 titles and win 2 more European titles! But it shouldn't end there just yet! We still have a lot of problems coming up in the future! Who's gonna replace fergie and Van der sar? You really need one hell of a special player and manager to replace them! Oh, what about the old fledgings in scholes and giggs? I believe ferguson will look in the long run to figure out who to replace all these irreplaceable players! About this season, there's no better chance to win an unprecedented quadraple of titles! And go on to repeat this feat for years to come! I wish really wish ManU to become the first to win back to back European cup in the new formation of the champions league! By right, they should have won a couple more of them and even overtake Real Madrid's 9 EU cups! Anyway,I'm from Singapore and EPL is very very hot and closely followed by us!

I am a die hard Man Utd fan, but here in Australia you get alot of people just wearing Man Utd jerseys because its a team people know are winners, they know nothing about the club, couldn't even name 5 players, but I smile and think its the power of Man Utd to seduce even the brain dead into spending their $$'s to buy a jersey of the greatest football club in the entire worlds... actually, in the known universe!

i have been a man u fan ever since i could walk being born in brazil but grew up in america it was a toss up between the beautiful game and american football. man u was the reason i chose the beautiful game i still remember the 1999 champions league final with solksjaer being a hero man u is a great cleb even arsenal head man wenger recently called them untouchable with such great tradition and great players now. as for ppl ragging on ronaldo they mistake confidence for selfishness has he not created many goal chances for man u in his tenier there and i dont hear man u players complaining. but the whole key to the puzzle is sir alex furgusen he is the best manager in the world and he has an uncanny ability to hold on to good team players like ryan giggs, paul scholes and gary neville. i will always love the boys in red from old trafford. MAN U FOR LIFE

I have been following Manchester United since 2002. Manchester United's never say die attitude is why I cherish them so much. It was difficult when chelsea won back to back titles but it proved to be a short term success and Mancheter United came with a Bang. 2007 title was a very pleasant surprise and that enforced the belief in me that its all about SIR ALEX FERGUSON. Then came 2008 and I was shouting like hell never shouted that much. Hope this goes on. United for life from INDIA. My Favourite players ROY KEANE and WAYNE ROONEY.

Manchester United..... the greatest team of all time... history says it all!
Posted by Rushikesh Patel on 02/20/2009
i am from India and here Cricket is worshipped and Sachin is God. But I do like C. Ronaldo and Rooney as much as Sachin..I have united t-shirts of Rooney of all the colours(Blue-2,Black-1,White-2,Red-2). When I wear it; I feel like I am the champion of the world. But sometimes I got sad as so many people in India dont know much about football and about this great club MANU. But I am sure when they will something know about Football they will definately know about the greatest team and most popular football team on the Planet. I am definately sure that United will make history this season by making quadruple.
