Still no word from the FA as to when they will charge Ronaldo for kicking an opponent in this weekend's tie against Blackburn. Nor frankly do i expect that to happen even as City are still dealing with the loss of SWP for three games. We know, deep in our hearts, that the FA and Premier League are not corrupt but time and again the appearance is given with uneven dispensation of disciplinary matters.
Red cards are rescinded for the Big Four and not for the rest, Middlebrough being the most aggrieved when they got an extra ban added of course, and the Rooneys and Ronaldos get away with their petulance without any charges being made.
For the record, I believe that SWP's ban was correct, kicking an opponent even in retaliation can not be justified. The issue is that players from the Big Four are not similarly charged.
The FA, will I'm sure, quote some interpretation of a rule "The refs guide dog for the blind was on sabbatical that day and as is clearly started in rule 37.3, as such Tv replays cannot be used as a result after the fact if a referee did not have the full benefit of the support technology provided." Or some such tosh.
