Well we have more stories in the news about a possible takeover of LFC, this time it’s an investor from China. Frankly I'm somewhat numb to all of this news as we ‘ve been down this road several times before and nothing has come out of it, except that Hicks and Gillette have remained in charge.
Of course, every time I do read of a possible takeover I pay attention and hope it will come to fruition. However, now that Hicks and Gillette have poisoned my opinion of owners I will not embrace any new proprietor until they prove that they are "fit and proper" to own Liverpool Football Club.
Of course, any new owner of LFC will have one huge plus on their side: they will have removed Tweedledum and Tweedledee from our club. The other interesting thing about this proposed takeover is that it seems hostile in nature. I have learned more about debt, hedge-funds, loans, etc in the last three years then I have cared to, but it seems that if no other offers are on the table that Hicks and Gillette might get the shaft in all of this, which of course would be fantastic.
I'm not going to be greedy here, I just want them out, at whatever the cost, but if someone could force them out and not pay over the odds - and invest that money in a new ground and players - all the better.
So let's see what happens over the next few weeks - if anything. Hopefully this can all get sorted out and I can go back to left-backs and strikers rather than leverage buy outs and calling in a loan.
On to football matters. Liverpool's No.9 finally put an end to all of the paper talk that he was leaving. Torres might end up going next year but it would have been easy to walk out now he has stood by us for one more year. Every time he opens his mouth he just knows what to say. If possible, I like him even more than before.
So far our spend in the transfer market has been £2.5 million on Danny Willson (going to 5.5) depending on appearances. People keep saying imagine if we have actually bought someone. We just re-signed our old left back on a free, got both the Serbian Milan Jovanovic and Joe Cole for nothing but their wages. We still need a striker and if Insua stays and Masch goes another midfielder.
I watched the friendly in against Borussia Moenchengladbach in Germany the other day and we were toothless up front, but that is to be expected without Torres, Kuyt or Ngog. I thought Shelvey was the business in the middle of the park for being so young.

I hope Shelvey get's plenty of playing time this season off the subs bench. I have heard he could be our Gerrard of the future. It would be nice from my point of view if we used players like Shelvey, Amoo, Pechecho, etc, like Bayern Munich and other German clubs do. Just look at the affect it has had on their World Cup squad.

For brand development and exploitation of the greatest potential of commercial oppotunities - which means a more solid long term financial foundation for LFC - Asian owners would be preferred.

I find the investor speculation quite intriguing.
In the modern era of sports owners want a return on their investment whether that be long term or short term.
Any number of them will be happy to put their money in IF it means they get an increase in returns later, so investment in a stadium and players is definitely on the cards.
In the main, it means an increase in the value of the club over time so when they eventually sell they can make a profit. You only need to look at teams like the New York Yankees to see an owner who bought the team for $10 million in 1973 and turned them into a team now worth $1 billion.
On the plus side for the Chinese bid is that they can drive the Liverpool brand into Asia, a region where it's already popular.
But at the end of the day, the biggest question that should be on everyones lips is where is this money coming from. We can't afford any more debt on the club.

Pliz put things in place, let these Americans go out of the team. We need a serious investor with brilliant ideas. Liverpool has been a well known team world wide.
I feel let others try and see how far the team will go. We are tired of stories. Hick and his friend should leave. They serve no purpose at all.
I have been supporting the team for 35 years. Liverpool has been doing fine. From the team the Hicks and friends came in the team is doing badly.
Let us be serious when handling the affairs of the team.

The players under 23 or so should play more, cos they're gonna soon be our top XI. Amoo, Pacheco, Shelvey, Robinson, Ayala, Lucas, Plessis - the club shouldnt let them go. If Roy can breed them, we're going to be tasting success soon

Change is something so many people find difficult to adapt to. The recent moves to change LFC has genrated a lot of rumours and lies. "The man who trims himself to suit everybody will soon whittle away",it is high time LFC gets to earth to do what they want without any disruption. I believe in Liverpool!

If these media people would concentrate on the real facts more and less on trying to announce "news" twenty seconds after they think it is fact maybe we would become less "numbed" to constant on/off/on again reporting!!!!!!!

once the china man has what it take to do the business let him go on.
please let someone push these greedy American away from that seat, because we want to enjoy the real game and go back to our winning ways
UP LIVERPOOL, YOU WILL NEVER WORK ALONE.
