Liverpool missed a hat full of chances against Arsenal and will have no better opportunity to defeat Arsenal away from home then they did this Wednesday night.
Liverpool were missing their big gun in the absence of Torres and had he been playing and fit this would have been a different game. David Ngog had done pretty well but he is young but even at the age of 25 he won't be anything like Torres.

He had a great chance to put us in front after a good ball by Gerrard but he lacked conviction to finish the job. The surprising inclusion of Maxi almost paid dividends but he had two chances to score but his shots didn't trouble Arsenal's keeper.

Liverpool played ok not well, just ok. At times are passing was poor and while I was impressed with Maxi in the Everton match I was surprised that he lasted as long as he did in this game. Once Kuyt went up top with Ngog we looked to have a better shape (lucas came off and we went for it). I know that people were gripe that we should have "gone" for it from the first whistle but if Rafa changes a winning team everyone moans about that as well.

The goal came after a defensive mistake but Arsenal did have a few good chances to score, two of which fell to Bedner but he lashed at one shot over the top and failed to shoot on another occasion. Lucas also did well for Liverpool but flashed his shot over the bar, is he ever going to contribute goals for us.

Howard Webb didn't give us much but how Fabergras was still on the field to volleyball the ball in minute 94 is almost a worse disgrace then the hand ball itself. Fabergas stood directly in front of the ball prior to that fee kick, which prevented Gerrard from taking it quickly, clearly he was time wasting. Then we get another free kick after Kuyt was pushed, (sorry Wenger I know you miss a lot of the match but it was Kuyt who was fouled not Gerrard) and then Fabergas walks up again, throws the ball back and stand in front of the wall again. That should have been his second yellow. Then he could/should have got another one for raising his arm volleyball style, i don't think it was a pk because he was just in front of the line, but in saying that he should have been inside the box because the wall was not 10 yards away.

A draw would have been a fair result but now that we dont' play Arsenal again I hope they win every league match from this point forward and win the league.
