Liverpool

I'm not sure again how Liverpool failed to beat Birmingham last Monday. Rarely does a team have so much of the ball, have so many clear chances, score two goals but really fail to test a keeper. Liverpool dominated this game from start to finish but again ended up not on the winning side. Not only did we not win but Torres injury didn't see him in the squad and we lost arguably our best player of the season for 3-4 weeks in yossi Benyou. The lively Albert Rierra also limped off with a hamstring injury just seconds before B'ham took an unbelievable lead.

Sometimes you just have to hold up your hands and say it' snot going to be your year. I'm have been very depressed over the last 4 to 5 weeks because of Liverpool and my wife finally had enough the other day and said "you just got to write this season off." As much as it pains me to admit it I believe she is right.

Nothing the manager tries seems to work lately and even when we batter teams we still don't win, see Lyon and B'ham. Injuries have not helped the cause but even when Torres and Gerrard were playing we were still not very good.

Lucas and Masch bossed the midffield but Kuyt had one of his worst games for us this season. Actually he has not been performing very well of late. Johnson was fantastic going forward but I think he was at fault for his defending on their first goal. I'm not quite sure how the second goal went in but it was a fantastic strike. Liverpool should have been a few in front by then with Lucas wasting a fantastic chance inside the box. Lucas had a good game but he really just needs to improve his goal scoring.

The second half was one way traffic and I can't believe we only had one goal, which was a pk that should not have been given. David Ngog is a nice player and he seems like a nice lad but he should not have gone to ground so easily. Some of the comments after the match were funny from hard men like Lee Carsley. Some of his tackles (not on Monday) have an been an embarrassment to his family so he should keep his mouth shut. A clear pk was turned down by the ref moments before for a handball so justice was done. I'm just very disappointed that we could not get a third. I knew it would not be our day when Gerrard headed a cross by Johnson off the post and wide. He should have scored and we would have gone on and won the match.

Hopefully the international break will give us some time to get players well.

As Liverpool fans, I don't think this season is our, In ECC L'pool 90% not qualiffied, Liverpool Need to strggle in 4th place,

I think All team can easilly read Rafa tactic, But y Rafa still use same Tactic, Liverpool reputation now low, We can't Beat Birmingham at "Home"

Rafa need find solution of this problem for team, NOT Just dream, sadly i watch every macth of Liverpool start from Pre-season n I unhappy with perfmnce of all Player, I agree wit' Kevin Brodie the greek player was poor marketing, not impress at all.

I dont see Torres leave cause club was underarchive, wow.. poor start this season make every Liverpool fans angry,

I really hope that Rafa starts to play his Spearings, Ayalas, Plessis etc more.Let the kids play. We can still finish top 4 because everyone will lose a few games.
Give the stars a rest. We have proven over the last few seasons that we can win without Gerrard and to a lesser extent Torres.Let them heal.
Use these couple of weeks to let them just heal.
He is pressing too much.
My only comment on the Lyon match is that he should have brought on a midfielder or another defender to see out the last 8 mins instead of Ngog.
Seal the game.
Good comments and a smart wife.
Same thoughts here although with the little talent we have we can still finish top 4.He just has to trust and start believing in the kids.

About
Kevin Brodie Kevin Brodie has been fortunate enough to see some of Liverpool’s greatest teams and players in action over the last 35 years. Reds fans are spoiled for choice in trying to pick their favourite memory. The best early memory I have of watching Liverpool in person was our 7-0 thrashing of Spurs, with the 7th goal being a thing of beauty. Watching us in 89 lift the FA Cup after the terrible disaster at Hillsborough was also very special. My favourite Liverpool moment on the TV has to be the Champions League final in 2005. It was a day I will never forget.
