Following his well publicised falling out with Sampdoria patron Riccardo Garrone, Antonio Cassano could find himself looking for a new club in the January transfer window if his contract is successfully rescinded. With the darling of Italian football available on a free transfer, former director Luciano Moggi believes it could be a shrewd bit of business to bring the man formerly known as the ‘Bari brat’ to Turin.

Throughout his career ‘Fantantonio’ has had his fair share of troubles, but it was his move to Genoa to join the Blucerchiati in 2007 that finally saw him mature into one of the brightest stars in Italian football that he is today. Under the tutelage of current Juve coach Gigi Del Neri, he managed to put his off-field (and sometimes on-field) problems behind him and concentrate on the thing that mattered the most – football.
Drafted back into the new-look Azzurri, Cesare Prandelli has made no secret that the future of the national side revolves around Antonio and Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli. Cassano has also found calm outside of football having married in the summer and is now expecting his first child. However, an outburst last month when he refused to attend an awards ceremony and allegedly called Garrone a ‘s***** old man’ has seen him back in the headlines for the wrong reasons and embroiled in a court case to have his contract terminated.
So, would it be a wise move to bring the fantastista to the Stadio Olimpico? Surely the fact he will be available on a free makes the decision a no-brainer? Of course there will always be question marks over whether he will prove to be a nuisance and a negative influence if he has another of his habitual tantrums – coined as ‘Cassanata’. However, this gifted player flourished under Del Neri at the Marassi, so who’s to say he wouldn’t become a hero in the black and white of Juve?
Perhaps the current squad will prevent the transfer, with Ale Del Piero, Fabio Quagliarella, Milos Krasic and Jorge Martinez all suited to playing off the striker or on the wing, is there room for the former Roma and Real Madrid man?

i think cassano may be all juve can afford at the moment. this may work as he is quite familiar with del neri. but realistically juventus needs another man up front and cassano wouldn't hurt. amauri is injury prone and we need all the legs we can get.

well cassano is a great talent but he's really dangerous especially in a very united group as Juventus is at the moment. I don't really think that Marotta should try to buy this crazy player even if he perfectly knows him because he worked with Cassano the last season.

Cassano despite his antics is a no brainer for Juve especially on a free transfer. Amauri is garbage and is injured so often that he should already be considered gone. Martinez as mentioned in the article above is not a great player either. Del Piero for all he has done for the club, cannot play forever. Cassano is still young enough to be a force for the next few years. A force Juve should not do with out.

Cassano is arguably the best Italian striker at the moment. Any team would want his services and it would make sense for Juve to obtain them. He scores frequently in the Serie A and for Italy. With Krasic and Marchisio servicing the ball to the forwards Cassano will be very hard to stop. Look at Milan's strike force, world class. Amauri is not world class and quite frankly is useless. Iaquinta is too inconsistent and with Del Neri, Buffon and Del Piero these leaders will be able to put him in his place. Being a free transfer would be perfect, silly not to pick him up!

I remember years ago thinking that cassano could be the perfect replacement for del piero. Juve should snap him up on a free - if it doesn't work out they can always sell him on for profit. That said, juve would still need a targetman upfront and as they probably can't afford dzeko, should try to get adebayor from man city on the cheap.

We need a bomber, not another second striker

yeah i know the arrival of cassano to milan will be a great signing even though he is crazy but iknow milan can turn down his crazieness into agood situation.

Well, Cassano will be a great addition to Juve. Juve's key players tend to contribute much to Azzurri. I think Cassano at the moment is the best to help Azzurri be back as long as he is able to control his bad behaviors.
