In the midst of an injury crisis, the Bianconeri ran out 2-1 winners against newly promoted Cesena in Turin on Sunday to move within four points of leaders Lazio. Having fallen behind to an early Luis Jiminez strike, goals from Ale Del Piero, Fabio Quagliarella and Vincenzo Iaquinta secured the three points for Gigi Del Neri’s side.

Following the disappointing mid-week result in the Europa League, it was vital that the Bianconeri got back to winning ways in the league and they did so in spirited fashion. With an injury list that can only be described as quite ridiculous, the patched-up side starting the game, which included 18-year old youth team defender Frederik Sorensen, fought back after conceding early to record a relatively comfortable win.

As Juve continue to climb the table and put themselves in contention for the Scudetto, league leaders Lazio fell in the Derby della Capitale. Has the Biancocelesti’s fine start to the season come to an end? With critics describing their start as somewhat lucky, the result leaves them just two points ahead of nearest challengers AC Milan, with the chasing pack rapidly narrowing the gap. Much was made of Sampdoria’s quick-fire start to the previous campaign, and I would predict that Edy Reja’s title challenge will come to end prior to the Christmas break just as the Blucerchiati’s did under Del Neri.

With a mid-week trip to Brescia to look forward to, Juve will hope that Sunday’s opposition Cesena, can get a result at home to Lazio which will allow la Vecchia Signora to move to within just one point of the lead. However, much will depend on whether the medical staff are able to stop working around the clock and the injuries at the Olimpico begin to clear up.

So, are the Bianconeri starting to show signs of launching a serious title bid? Has the slide of Lazio begun? Share your thoughts.

I think we are force to be recon with this season. We have Krasic who's dertermination and skills has proven very worthy and needed. In light of that, we won two games with out him, beating ac milan and cesena. Del Piero continues to work hard,Fabio Quagliarella has been doing well in the front and Iaquinta just love to score. he always seem hungry for that goal(i like that about him). These guys, together with Krasic and the other members of the team just might make us Juvenlites happy again. Krasic is just really great(thus far) and he seems to truly want to be there with Juventus. I mean, he is no Pavel Neved(who is irreplacable) but he is almost :)
The defence needs a lot of work, but that's a whole topic by itself.
We also NEED TO STOP DROPPING POINTS WHEN WE MEET MEDIOCRE AND BOTTOM OF THE TABLE TEAMS. It will come back to haunt us.

although we've been doing well i must be brutally honest, i consider it scraping by and surviving. we should have beaten brescia. every time it happens, we are the first to concede a goal. this can't keep happening if we are to win the scudetto. lazio's success is no fluke, they are a tight nit group, but i forsee them finishing 4th or 5th. kudos to the juve defense for their hard play in the absence of chiellini, but we have to be better and extremely stingy in possession.
