With the visit to the Stadio Friuli posing a real threat of yet another setback to the Del Neri era, Juventus were able to overcome the Zebrette in a comfortable 4-0 victory and will hope that this is just a taste of things to come. Goals from Leonardo Bonucci, Fabio Quagliarella, Claudio Marchisio and Vincenzo Iaquinta sealed the win for the Bianconeri as they kick-started their campaign in emphatic fashion.

Following the disappointment of two back-to-back 3-3 draws against Sampdoria and Lech Poznan, Juve were finally able to record their first victory of the season, which left Udinese still looking for their first point of the season. Another impressive performance from Fabio Quagliarella, topped by an exquisite back-heel flick for his goal, indicates that the former Napoli man may prove to be the most important signing during a summer of rebuilding.

Perhaps an even more encouraging sign of this weekend’s performance for la Vecchia Signora was that a previously shaky backline were finally able to keep a clean sheet and will be hopeful they can continue to shut out the opposition in the coming weeks as the side continues to gel.

With Milan and Roma both slipping up at home to Catania and Bologna respectively, and Inter having difficulties but ultimately overcoming Palermo in Sicily, this Serie A campaign is already proving that the gap between many of the so-called bigger sides and the rest of the pack is slowly closing. With the league becoming increasingly competitive and points harder to come by, the Bianconeri will hope to build on this performance as they welcome Delio Rossi’s Palermo side to Turin next weekend in what will be yet another fascinating encounter.

With some positive signs this weekend, who impressed you the most? What do you believe is the right formation and starting line-up for Juve? With the injury list in the Stadio Olimpico treatment room clearing up, Gigi Del Neri will surely have a few selection headaches in the forthcoming months and will hope to continue in the same vein as the Bianconeri did today in their ruthless demolition of Udinese.

Krasic was once again a standout performer, he's always making penetrating runs and providing assists(great cross for Marchisio's goal).

As for the for starting line-up, I think not having De Ceglie on the field helped solidify the backline. They really do need to invest in a quality left back, or De Ceglie needs to significantly improve.

Overall solid win, be it against opposition that seem to be struggling. Hoping to see another solid performance next game, and against more quality opposition in the future.

Fabio Quagliarella!!! He's in true form, and has proved to be a generator of goals. Although one cannot overlook Marchisio who has definitely come into his own these past couple weeks. If Juve can keep scoring like that, I'm willing to forget the dreadful defending that has plagued Juventus, especially against Lech Poznan. Even Iaquinta scored! But we really need to bring in an aggressive defender. Another Chiellini perhaps. Honestly, if it's true that Benzema or Giuseppe Rossi might leave their clubs come January, I hope Juve can snatch either of them up.

Honestly, I think we should just get a good right back and a center back. Why center back? Because I think that Bonucci and Chiellini don't complement each other well, they're too similar. Also, I realise that left back is one of our weakest positions, but good left backs are rare. Even Barca and Madrid only have "good" LBs. Hell, Inter are using Chivu (originally a CB) there. So I propose we get a new CB to partner Bonucci, and move Chiellini to the left.
