Esteban Cambiasso's brace allowed Inter to reduce the gap with AC Milan from 13 to 11 points. Leonardo's arrival brought determination and points. Six in two games with two more games in hand - a potential gap of 'only' five points between the two Milan's teams. And now Inter look at the remuntada with higher hopes and increasing confidence.
The Brazilian coach was honest enough about Inter's performance against Catania: "We suffered a lot in the first half, whereas things improved after Pandev came in. Anyway, to suffer and to win without playing well is a very important sign. This win is more proof of Inter's character". Scudetto is not a lost cause anymore, that's the general feeling among Nerazzurri.
The new Inter coach has his own idea about Inter's way of winning, which is probably very close to the truth: "I think we have to get used to Inter winning ugly sometimes. Our team is not designed to play wonderful football. Our opponents are very clever tactically and so you need to accept to win with scrappy goals sometimes.
"The most important thing is the will to win and here's a team of winners. I am very confident we can achieve a lot because of this".
MAN OF THE MATCH: Esteban Cambiasso. The Argentinian midfielder's ability to exploit gaps to score important goals is becoming a trademark of this season.

What a delightful win! It reminded me of so many of the wins that we got under Mou. It was ugly, tough and gutsy and displayed the never say die attitude that had been missing for most of this season. If I am to be honest this is the sort of football I love to see, if I want to see endless passing I would jump on the Barca bandwagon but I love Inter and this was text book Inter. It was nice to see Leonardo appreicate this. I am sure he would like to see us dominate matches more, control them but he recognises we havent got the players to do so.
Overall a great result in a tough away fixture, Milito still looks way off but so does Torres and Rooney and a number of other top strikers from last year, that doesnt mean he is bad, just that he may need more time to get back to form. Castellazzi had a cracking game, proving a more than capable sub for Caesar whilst our new adddition Ranocchia got a few minutes in the end. Lets keep this going! Forza Inter!!

I honestly don't care much if it was a "Beautiful" win or an "Ugly" win. A win is a WIN, wether it's by one goal or 5 goals.I don't expect this season to be as good as the last one but the Scudetto and at least CL Semis would be great.

a win is a win and we'll take that. at this point in the season we can't be picky with the scoreline, all that matters is the 3 points towards the top. The scudetto has never been out of reach for us, Milan cannot continue their form all the way through the season, as shown by their last 2 matches.
I am pleased Leo has gotten off to a good start and I expect to see more of the same in the upcoming weeks.
With our 2 games at hand over mostly all the league, if we maximize the 6 points we could see ourselves jump all the way up the table. The Scudetto is no where near over. Inter have been and always will be contenders.

Leornado is a smart guy, and a good student of mourinhno, this Inter team is not designed to play exciting football, and that's what Benitez failed to understand. Inter's strenght is its cohesiveness, character and strong will to win.
