Another disappointment. Two more injured players, a new ineffective formation, a gracious penalty, a player who fainted in the dressing room.

Let's start form the latter. Wesley Sneijder fainted at half time, no relation with being used as a deep playmaker just before Lucio and Samuel. Now the Dutchman is OK, Inter are not. Tottenham's lesson and a ridiculous injury list forced Rafa Benitez to change. Inter coach choose to play Brescia with a 4-4-2 formation. The usual back four in front of Castellazzi; in midfield Pandev and Coutinho on the wings, Zanetti as holding midfielder to protect playmaker Wesley Sneijder; upfront Eto'o and Milito as central forwards. A sort of conservative back to basics. Not a revolution but a momentary turn towards a safer and less complicated tactic. Something easier to assimilate to make Inter walk unafraid during this bad spell. A decision which could be seen as a sign of humility (or confusion?). But Brescia were not in the mood to accomodate Inter and their Spanish coach expectations. At minute 14 Caracciolo put the visitors ahead. After some minutes Maicon added his name to Inter's injured players list. Baiocco, Hatemaj and Cordova were very effective both at chasing and sending Nerazzurri astray.
If you don't have room enough things get tougher. Brescia did not give anything away and Inter never inspired confidence. Santon in the second half replaced Samuel. The Argentinian damaged his knee (twisted ligaments) and this is a massive blow to Inter set up. At the minute 73 the home side was awarded a generous penalty after Eto'o fell in the opponents penalty box. The Cameroon striker thanked for the gift scoring the equaliser. But Eto'o 8th goal in 10 league games it will hardly hide Inter misery. Sorry, "Bad luck" as Rafa Benitez calls it after the game.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Javier Zanetti. His display against Brescia was ordinary stuff for him. But in this period of the year 'Saviero' normality is enough to do better than his team mates.

Very disappointing result against a Brescia who was coming off a five game losing streak, they must be delighted to break it against Inter at the San Siro!
I saw Inter's 4-4-2 as being in reality more of a 4-2-4 as Coutinho and Pandev seemed to play more in the forward rather than a midfield position. Sneijder looked confused while he was on the pitch and often we had the farcical situation of about four Inter players standing within a metre of each other just outside the box.
This was a game we should not have lost and serious questions have to be asked over Pandev who was invisible. On the brightside I thought you Joel Obi played very well when he came on, providing steel in midfield and a suprisingly good pass. The team appeared much more balanced with his arrival.
Still Inter need to win again, Benetiz excuse of not having anyluck is a joke, particularly considering how soft Eto'o's penalty was.

It was a tough game. I didn't expect Brescia to give us this much trouble but they did. The list of injuries is incredibly long.
I hope Rafa rests most of the team against Lecce as we have a very important game against AC on sunday.
I was surprised by Obi's performance he is getting better and better everytime he plays. These youngsters need to be played more. Look at Coutinho. He plays much better now then before.

We have to finish better too though. 32 shots taken and only 6 on goal. This is poor finishing by every standard.

I hope Samuel recovers soon. The knee injury looked really bad.

Loli you are right about Obi but Coutinho to me is a liability, when he's on the ball he looks is going to lose it... I was so sad for Samuel. He's goint to miss the rest of the season.he was the rock where Jose built last year wins. A huge loss for us

Thanks a lot man. I really aciteppare it.I've been wondering about the Zanetti issue for a while. I mean he's a legend and will always start. But him playing will always take the place of a youngster that could be more dynamic. So not sure what's the right thing to do.The formation in the end will be changed to fit our players skills.I'm going to try to blog more often so check back.
