Livorno came into this match hoping to prey on Inter’s inability to perform as of late in Serie A. With Sneijder, Deki and Milito (technically) out I knew that Mou’ was going to use the 4-3-3 with Eto’o as the target man. Didn’t think he was going to make so many wholesale changes to the starting line-up though. The most surprising inclusion on the day was Cristian Chivu.

This was the perfect match. The players worked for the team like never before. You could see it in the eyes of every player on the pitch, each player on the bench, and the technical staff that they wanted to win this game at all cost. We set out on a mission and accomplished it with a certain level of skill and style that hasn’t been seen from Inter for a long time. The Champions League is a competition where luck plays it part in every match. In my view, the only luck I saw Tuesday was on Chelsea’s side. We should have put at least 3 past them on the night, but I’m (and I’m sure you are too) quite content with our 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge. I won’t do a usually write-up of the game as we all already probably read what happened a million times over on sites across the internet. Rather, I’m going to talk about each player a little more in-depth.

The game that was supposed to be, but never was...

This is a game that should be soon forgotten. Im not going to do a normal write-up. It doesn't make sense to talk about a game when I have literally nothing good to say. Rather, I'm going to talk about something else: Formations.
