Everton grabbed a deserved draw at Anfield thanks to Tim Cahill's equaliser 3 minutes from time, on a night when they more than matched one of the so called big four yet again.

Our record against the top four last season was abysmal. I think we lost every game. This time around we're looking much, much harder to break down and have a resilience which is at least getting us draws against them. Results against Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all come from battling, committed displays and if we keep that up we can expect to get a win sooner or later.

Everton came through the 3rd round of the FA Cup unscathed after a 1-0 win over Macclesfield. Playing a lower league team on a tight pitch, this was a banana skin waiting to happen - especially considering they had Rooney's younger brother in their ranks - but thanks to a fantastic strike Leon Osman, Everton will now travel to Anfield for the 4th round in what promises to be a mouthwatering tie.

Jack Dowden Jack Dowden - I was around 20 when I realised if I was to pursue my interest in the beautiful game it would probably be best for all involved that I stayed as far away from the pitch as possible. After several years searching for my niche within the game, I stumbled across Blogging, which brings together perfectly my two strengths and passions, English and Football. As the French Philosopher Rene Descartes proclaimed, "I Blog, therefore I am", or words to that effect!
