It isn't only me who's saying it (Carlo and a whole host of other media pundits are saying it too) but isn't Didier Drogba's recent form AMAZING?!
Obviously he has always been a key players for us, ever since he played so brilliantly against Manchester United in the first game of the 2004/05 season, causing their centre-backs to have real problems, and sending us on our way to our first title in years, but at the moment he is looking so sharp, quick and clinical that its no wonder Carlo is swooning over him.
"I want to keep him and I wouldn't change him with another striker!" said Chelsea's Italian coach Ancelotti.
In the aftermath of another match in which Didier had led us from the front, and practically scored both goals on his own, Carlo Ancelotti was struggling to think of a better striker. And he will continue to struggle, because Didier is simply the best in the business. He is great in the air (as proven last night), and has the ability to create space for himself, allowing him to make cool finishes rather than erratic swipes at goal.
Who could possibly take his place? Van Persie looks good at Arsenal but is lightweight. United fans bang on about Wayne Rooney, but I have yet to see him grab a game by the scruff of the neck and lead United to victory. Yes he runs hard and tackles, but then so could I!
Yesterday's display of power, pace and finishing has led us to the top of both the Premier League and Champions League groups, and much more is yet to come from our Ivorian hero!
Apologies for the lack of posts recently - I have been suffering from swine flu (I'm sure that will keep a few of you happy!)

Drogba is the best. Period. Of those you didnt mention, Torres and Adebayor are also up there...But no team can handle Drogba.

i want to complement the current chelsea team. the only thing lacking now are, we dont have good wingers, we need the former jose mourinho team with good and fast 7/11 players. i also want chelsea to get a replacement for drogba, you know his not getting younger anymore. all hail chelsea.

Drogba is simply the best striker in the world. So powerful, sharp, strong and no one can stop him. I agree with Ancelotti that no striker in the world is as good as Drogba. He is the best and most powerful striker in the moment.

Yeah, I completely agree with u guys there, he is the best for now...but we still need to work harder for us to be the best in the world and win the EPL & UCL. The diamond formation is doing well, we need good wingers to come in with this transfer ban suspended,and also need to remain consistent.

Drogba is simply a beast!!! Good ball sense stamina and a match winner. he has certainly answered critics who thought otherwise during the Chelsea/Liverpool match at the bridge. Go!!! the Drog!!!

I think when Yuri Zhirkov gets healthy he'll be a huge boost out on the wings. Drogba is one of a kind, the best striker I've seen in a long, long time. He brings so many different threats to the table when he enters a game, we really will miss him in January. However, Anelka's no light-weight. I wouldn't be surprised to see Di Santo play alongside Anelka when he comes off of loan with Blackburn in January. As much as I hate to lose Drogba, Kalou, Essien and Mikel for a month, it will be nice to see what Di Santo can do in a Chelsea uniform with the first team.

I agree Didier is as his best and is the best striker right now.
He should be the next "UEFA -Ballon d'Or" and "FIFA - Player of the year".
He deserves all these recognitions.

The fear of DOUBLE'D' as a striker is the begining of a nightmare for any goal-tender in EPL now. He is undoubtly the best striker in the world now. He came back from suspension from the European Championship and rewarded Abramovich Army with a brace. Wonderful!!!
Who is like unto thee in the striking role now? Nobody. Even if he does not score in a game, his presence on field of play is the 12th man. Didi is Two in One striker. He is lethal with his right foot and very alert with his left foot. he combines the job of a striker cum defender at times. Surely everything he does is DOUBLE. His name speak it all. I simply called him, D D, Iam his no 1 fan, always being attacked by 2,3 defenders at a time. he is great, the most deadliest striker, with chest, legs & head.

Johnny Evans should do some jail time for his assault on Drogba. Drogba was forced to miss Côte d'Ivoire's next match vs. Guinea. The FA has done nothing to a blatant attack. Imagine if that was JT going after Giggs, you bet JT would have been suspended already

While no doubt can be cast on his skills, his team play had me worried in previous season. But someone lit a fire under him this year and he is in unbelievable form. Recovering to help on defense, selflessly giving up the ball to create better opportunities; he is doing it all. And what can you say about the Drogba/Anelka connection. Those two together have been tearing defenses apart like it's nothing. Here's to hoping the hard work and team goals stay their primary focus, and we capture the titles that have been haunting us these last couple of seasons.

Drogba is definitely one of the best strikers in the world right now,he hsant got the flair but his build and power more than make up for it,he has got finishing and touch and that is what stands him out from the rest,he is good in the air,he has practically mastered the use of both feets right now,we are really going to miss him in january thats why we really need to buy a striker with class who can at least stand in for him

Didier Drogber, the Lion of the Tribe of Ivory Coast is a fantastic striker. I am so happy he has remained with us despite some unfavourable situation especially after the exit of Jose Morinho - 'The Special One'. Wake up guys, all u people are probably biased Chelsea fans. The entire world knows that Drogba is good, but quite fairly, he is'nt the best in the world. Besides, his tendency to go down on the floor easily time and again has put his rep in the bad books of the refs. And come on!!! Torres, Villa, Messi, Rooney!!! And u guys say Drogba is the best striker?? He is really good but certainly not the best.

Yes he's one of the best, Yes Chelsea is the best club and Yes football is the greatest game ever invented.
But honestly, Drogba Needs to start diving a lot less. not only does it destroy the pace of the game, but also brings it to disrepute. not only football but chelsea as well. Non-Footballers (or Muggles as i like to call them) think that all footballers are just a bunch of actors, its freakin terrible.

i can not describe drogba and finish him because he is a player who can change the game the way he likes, he is very flexible to me in premiership, fit and energytic, he can score from every angle so long as he gets the ball, he is always on target minus being offside several times, he is a planner of the game and cotrols the ball quickly and steadly, so chelsea will shine & and shine with drogba, he is the best in all. boaz kiu, a chelsea fun.
