I know we're all supposed to get behind the England team, and JT and Frank are even on show and key players, but there is nothing more boring that the international break!
I think it all stems back to previous World Cup Finals - I distinctly remember waking up excitedly at some stupid hour in the morning to watch England versus Nigeria at Japan / Korea 2002. Two hours of the dullest football ever, culminating in a 0-0 draw that was free from any quality, skill or speed, killed any enthusiasm I had for the national side.
It's not that the England team play particularly badly that makes the international break unbearable (I don't even bother to watch them - and I'm certainly not about to pay £11.99 to watch it on a scratchy internet feed), but the fact that my beloved Chelsea don't play for what seems like an eternity.
The weekend drags - no Chelsea, no excitement, no bets - its so dull - I find myself tracking the scores in League Two just for something to do! And then we miss out on our Champions League fix too!
I think it was Stephen Ireland (who is very rarely right!) who said that international football is dead, because the players prefer to play for their club sides, who pay their wages after all. Playing next to familiar faces leads to better, more skillful and intuitive play, which is what fans want to see - football played at a real pace.
The only positive I can see from the World Cup is that it fills some space in the summer with football, giving us a chance to get out into the sun and watch football on the big screen whilst the Premier League rests.

Well said! Internationals are not really worth it anymore. Junior levels are ok, since it helps expose the players to scouts and the like. But at the senior levels where careers are settled and the clubs offer better benefits than the home countries, it just a pure waste of time! I believe the World Cup be scrapped at the senior level and the resources allocated it diverted to the U-20 and U-17 Championships to create a better platform for young players. Also same for continental football tournaments. Come January and all the Africans will be off for the Cup of Nations where whatever benefits that are there to gain is only for the economy of the host country and teams like Chelsea are left without solid players for the better part of a month!

I love Chelsea with passion and i got crazy too when there is an international break, but speaking about the African cup of Nations, i have players there like Mikel and i would like him 2 go and play 4 my country (hoping we qualify),Obviously,Chelsea would still play well without him. We crushed bolton without key players, so why cant we survive? I just felt bad when Chelsea lost to Wigan cos we did not play well but i finally collapsed when we lost to A- Villa. I HAVE THIS STRONG FEELING AND BELIEF THAT CHELSEA WILL LIFT THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TROPHY THIS SEASON.

Just love the way j cole plays and am happy he is back with his bag of tricks for our midfield,we've been lacking some free flows lately, wish we can demolish the stubborn Bolton side this weekend, stay off injury and see Man.United off so as to silence this loud mouthed Fergie once and for all.

Chelsea are on a roll with big results os late.
This weekend should be no different, seeing that we are playing Bolton, be it at the Reebok. This is a game in which we can pull away from the rest, with Spurs playing Arsenal and Man U playing at Blackburn. Spurs should win or at least draw and a draw at Old Trafford will set things up just right for Chelsea to pull away.IHope my prediction is right

Chelsea is playing beautiful right now but im worried that they wont take care of the little sides, just like what happended with wigan. i think the players are more keen on tougher opponents but what about the little guys. i still dont see who can test this side anyhow and we should win it all with Drogba in the best form of his life

i only hav 2 names(no middle name)but if i'm compelled to choose a middle name, guess wat,i'll go for chelsea.our guys are really great but we still need to fortify our side considering African nations cup and loosing the likes of Drogba cos we need to remain on top forever!! nothing do chelsea!!!!!!!!!
