Celtic FC

The Celtic team and manager have come in for some stick over the last few weeks, some of it fair, some unfair but it is refreshing to see that in the last couple of matches against Aberdeen(3-0) and Motherwell(3-2) the team are starting to at last find a bit of form to get the snipers off their backs.

It has been a mixed season so far for Celtic and the fans knew that it was never going to be easy but now hopefully they have turned a wee corner with wins over Aberdeen,an Aberdeen team that defeated Rangers only the week before and Motherwell at Fir Park,a place that is never easy going to visit.

I am particularly pleased with the recent form of big Georgie Samaras in the last couple of matches as he has come in for some stick also and maybe from as far back as last season when he was not always the fans favourite but now he is turning in performances that have not only got some of the Celtic support eating their words but even some of the experts in the media have to hold their hands up and admit that he has been the main forward for Celtic in recent weeks.

Perhaps Georgie was a victim of his own headlines as he claimed that Celtic would win the league last season because they had better players than Rangers!

Picture the scene,Walter Smith reads the headline and walks into the dressing room and pins the story on to the dressing room wall!

This was all the motivation that the Rangers players needed to go on and win the title last year ahead of shot shy Celtic! This season, lesson learned,Talking Must Be Done On The Park!

Hopefully Georgie Bhoy will continue his goal scoring form all the way through the season and will fire the Hoops to the title but it is going to be a long hard season before anything is decided and we will have many twists and turns before May comes.

This should have been an exciting week for Celtic with their final Europa League match coming up on Thursday with old foes Rapid but as the club have bowed out of Europe already, some would say the match is meaningless for the club but I doubt you would get that view from Tony Mowbray on Thursday.

It is the perfect way to keep the performances and results rolling especially for the strikers and after the goal that Mr Fortune scored to win the match against Motherwell on Saturday,it could be the perfect match to see the striker net another couple of goals to get his form and confidence up,lets hope so.(ITV4 on Thursday)

Celtic know that they have a couple of hard matches cming up with two away matches against Rapid in Europe and Hearts in the league and even though Hearts are going through a sticky time at the moment they always give the Celts a hard time a Tynecastle.

Other news from Celtic Park
The club are delighted to announce the signing of South Korean,Ki Sung Yueng who will come to the club on January 1st on a four year deal.
Ki who is only 20,has been named the Asian Young Player of the Year and has made 17 international appearances and is tipped to be one of the best young prospects this country has seen for quite some time,I am sure Hoops fans wish Ki all the very best in his new career with Celtic FC and we cannot wait to see him in action.
Celtic will face Morton in the Scottish Cup in the weekend of 9/10th Jan 2010
Paul Caddis signs new one year deal to keep him at the club

There have been many rumours of players coming and going from Celtic Park and I am sure that Tony Mowbray will be sick of reading all the headlines in the papers.I know a player has either signed or left Celtic when he walks into Celtic Park or in some cases out of Celtic Park,so I will wait till Tony Mowbray tells us who he has bought or got rid of!

Before I go,I must mention my wee Rangers mate Ravi who celebrates his Birthday today.
You may know him as the Rangers ESPN Rangers reporter and what a good job he makes of that too! Happy Birthday mate, hope you are not celebrating too much tonight and if you see Dick Campbell on your night out, don't let him near the Karaoke again!

Hail,Hail!

As ever mucker a great read, enjoy keeping up with the other side through your articles.

Marc-Antoine Fortunés goal against Motherwell at the weekend what a strike eh?! Will the Tic’s big man finally prove that price tag of £3.8 million now he’s back from injury?

Rangers own ‘big man’ Kyle Lafferty still has a fair bit to do in my eyes to justify that £3million odd the club spent last season…let’s see who gets there first...I know who my money’s on...neither!

You know me I stay well away from the Karaoke as should Dick Campbell!!! The Nightclub dance floor is more my bag when the sciatica isn’t taking over!

Cheers for the Birthday shout - getting closer to 21 by the minute ha ha! But happily embracing life on all levels whilst in my mid 20’s!

Let’s meet for a Crimbo pint soon and arrange our tickets for the Aberdeen game in the new year!

Merry Christmas all...

Cheers

Ki is a cracking little player, and arguably the brightest prospect from East Asia at the moment (and this is coming from a Japanese fan!)

I personally can't wait to see what he can do at Parkhead; I get the feeling that he could be the man to turn the title race in our favor.
