After Celtic's 0-0 draw with Motherwell at the weekend and all the fall out that went with it, the news that that King Henrik has told the world of his intention to quit playing football and this news has got the Celtic supporters both excited and interested in the next move for the legend that is the magnificent seven! But more pending is the visit on Thursday of crack German side SV Hamburg.

Everyone knew that Jim Gannon's Motherwell side would prove to be a tough nut to crack but they would never have believed how many chances the Celtic forward line would miss during the course of this match!

Now I am not sure if it was Tony Mowbray or Tony Hadley that said,"I don't need this Pressure on" last Saturday night but I can certainly say one sang it with a smile and the other said it with a frown as Celtic surrendered top spot in the SPL.

There was two sides playing this match and it would be rude not to mention how well Motherwell and in particular goalkeeper John Ruddy.

Ruddy had little or no chance to show just how good a keeper he was when he was at Everton as he always second or third choice keeper as Everton did have decent keepers in front of him but when the chance came even if it was to go on loan to get games, John would gladly go just to get the matches and Mr Gannon must have seen something in him as he took him to Stockport and he must have made an impression mind you the way the Celtic forward line left a lot to be desired!

Chances came and went and both Scott McDonald and Aiden McGeady missed with simple headers when it did seem easier to score!

You just wonder if some players believe some of the hype that is written about them in the press and actually believe they are better than they are and maybe just maybe they never gave Motherwell the respect that they deserved.

I know that may sound a bit strange but lets be honest and my Rangers pal Ravi will agree with me on this, the Old Firm are simply not that good anymore!

Teams like Motherwell, Aberdeen, Hibs, Hearts and Dundee United are starting to think,"Hey these two are not unbeatable!"

If some half decent side could put a good run together then we could see new champions in Scotland before the Old Firm decant to England, the Atlantic League or the Moon!

If the Old Firm did ever get their desired move down south, would it be such a bad thing for the SPL? Others would take on the challenge and perhaps spend a bit of money to try and challenge for a title, which, lets face it, anyone would be able to win!

It may be strange for a Celtic fan to say but in my opinion, these two have had an attitude problem for some time and it is only now that people are staying away from the matches that they are thinking about new ways of attracting fans back to Celtic Park and Ibrox.
The too big for their boots attitude and we are off to England stance is almost laughable after some of the performances both sets of Old Firm fans have had to watch this season.

The Scottish League is our bread and butter, let’s not forget it!

For years Celtic have gone back to teams like Motherwell and snapped up their best strikers-McClair,Walker and McDonald to name but three, why should we turn our back on a league and teams and stadiums that have given both halves of the Old Firm so many happy memories?
Let’s face it Celtic and Rangers will always be big names on the European scene because of what they achieved in 1967 and 1972 and they have had some great glory nights also but on the face of it they are just Scottish clubs who have become laughing stocks in recent times!

One man who Celtic would love to have in their ranks at this moment is the man who has just announced his retirement from football which will take effect from November 1st,the man they call the magnificent seven, the one, the only the King of Kings himself, the legend that is Henrik Larsson.

Henrik's seven year love affair with the club saw him play in one of the most exciting Celtic line ups since the attacking sides that the late great Tommy Burns used to play as he lined up alongside Chris Sutton and John Hartson and he not only won all three domestic trophies but also the but also the Golden Boot and he scored two goals in the UEFA Cup final defeat at the hands of Porto.

He is still thought of as a legend at the club and the level of love that he received at Celtic has never left him and he feels the same way about the Hoops and their support.

It is no shock that he is being linked with a return to the club at some stage in his career but for now, let us back Tony Mowbray and also thank Henrik for the service and special memories that he has given all who follow the team in Green and White Hoops!

Wee question for you all-What is your fav Henrik moment?

Back to current matters and Celtic welcome German giants Hamburg to Celtic Park on Thursday in a match that not many will give the home side a chance of winning such has been their form this season.

Celtic last played the Germans way back on 10th September 1996 and they suffered a 2-0 home defeat and they also suffered the same fate in the away leg.

The Hoops go into this match having not won a home match in Europe this season, drawing their last match 1-1 with old foes Rapid Vienna and know that they must find their form soon or this Europa League adventure will soon be over even before it has had the chance to begin!
