Celtic FC

One of the Glasgow giants have been beaten at home again, knocked out of the League Cup before the semi-final stage at home by a club in trouble and this sparked a mini protest outside the stadium, would you think I was talking about Rangers? Well you would be wrong! this has all happened at Celtic Park since last week and that despite going back to the top of the league!

Many folk have overlooked the fact that Celtic have gone back to the top the league after a 2-1 win over Hamilton on Sunday as this was a match that was squeezed in between two cup ties, Hamburg in the Europa League and Hearts in the League Cup and both matches ended in 1-0 defeats, much to the disgust of the Celtic support, which it recent weeks has started to drift away!

Losing to Hamburg is no disgrace but the fortress that was Celtic Park is fast becoming a joke as teams are coming and this is no disrespect to Hearts but they are meant to be a team in that are in crisis and they came to Celtic Park and went away winning 1-0 thanks to a Michael Stewart penalty after Nade was downed in the box by Fox.

Celtic did have plenty of chances to score in the match in particular Mr Samaras but the equaliser just never came and Hearts go into the next round, the semi-finals and Celtic the holders are out of the competition!

The chance for Tony Mowbray and his men to put an early trophy in the bag has gone and now our arch-rivals Rangers, just may gone on and lift the cup and take some pressure off themselves as they have made not only the back but the front pages of the papers in recent weeks with events over at Ibrox, maybe they did not realise just how much Sir David Murray actually did for the club until now, if he ever wanted to make his way to Celtic Park, I for one would welcome him!

After last night's match, I witnessed a mini protest against the board as the fans who had bothered to turn up, stood outside and chanted, "Sack The Board!" They were clearly unhappy with the result and performance of the team last night, the first half especially they were slow to react to anything as the match was played at pre-season pace!-the second was a wee bit better apart from the score but in general this team are nowhere near as good as a Celtic team should be and for me and Tony Mowbray, January cannot come quick enough!

The team has been really short in a cutting edge over the last few months and weeks and only Paddy McCourt showed any real quality, this is simply not good enough!!!!

Maybe former boss Gordon Strachan, who has now in charge at Middlesbrough and the very best of luck to him, will take some of these players down south will him and let Tony Mowbray rebuild his Celtic, before it is too late!

Thank goodness I bought a couple of DVD's last night to cheer me up and no one of them was not Samaras greatest Celtic goals!!!!! sorry Georgie Bhoy but make sure you actually hit the net before you celebrate next time!

Not wanting to sit and slag certain players or the club on this webpage the truth simply is this, the treble is gone, so let’s back the manager and the team in their quest for the double!

There is no truth in the rumour that Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies left Celtic Park with a smile on his face! Come on Jim and smile in the same sentence now you know I am having a laugh, just hope he and his team are not having the last laugh on Saturday!

By the time Mowbray gets his team the crowd of 18,000 will be the norm. The fans have had enough of paying inflated prices for a poor end product

The team at the moment are playing with no passion, commitment, direction or enthusiasm. There seem to be some internal problems with the players, as epitomized by McManus' dreadful red-carded challenge against Hearts. Is there a "west bromism" or "mayburyism" effecting the team spirit at the club? Do I detect a certain negativity and lack of leadership in both the manager and the players? The players and team don't suddenly change from strong unit with team ethos to a relatively uninspiring group of individuals. Are we then surprised that supporters are absent in droves. The Board are not the problem, they do not run the team affairs, they are doing a terrific job under the financial constraints they face. What they need to do is analyse the current situation and effect changes to stop the downward slide the team is suffering at the moment.

I watched the Hearts match on a stream and it seemed to be a depressing affair throughout, both on the pitch and in the stands. Hard to believe now that we have all of two home wins so far this season! The transition into the Mogga era was never going to be easy, but I wasn't expecting it to be this difficult.

Oh well, we've still got the rest of the season to get things right (or headed in the right direction), and still have two more trophies to go after.

You have to be joking with a desire for that inbred loser Murray to come to Celtic Park. He'll burden us with debt but more importantly, he's a hun. No huns welcome at Celtic Park.
