So the transfer window has come and gone and all the hype that surrounded players coming and going can now be put to bed, well till January at least!
The big news that has come out of Celtic Park today is the news that defender Darren O'Dea has signed a new three year contract but then he was shown the door!!!! well not quite as he has gone on loan till January to Reading to get more first team matches and experience.
The Republic of Ireland defender is delighted with his new contract and also the chance to play regular first team football in such a competitive league such as the Championship.
So many great sides in that division that Darren will certainly enjoy playing against and that can only help develop his game.
Also moving out of Celtic Park is goalkeeper Mark Brown who has gone to Kilmarnock as they have lost their first choice keeper Alan Coumbe to injury.
Celtic have moved quickly to try and close a deal for China captain Zheng Zhi who can play in either defence or midfield but he is a free agent he can still sign for the club.
Zheng scored nine goals for Charlton in his first season in the Championship and can be used to cover the loss of Darren or he could give Tony Mowbray another option in midfield.
Celtic have found out that they will travel to face Eddie May's Falkirk in the Third round of the Co-operative Cup.
The holders will travel to the Falkirk Stadium to play either on Tuesday 22nd September or Wednesday 23rd September depending on live TV.
Last season Celtic beat Rangers 2-0 in the final of this competition with goals from Reading bound Darren O'Dea and Aiden McGeady.
Celtic will be looking for revenge as it was Falkirk who knocked the Hoops out on penalties at Celtic Park when Gordon Strachan was in charge,Tony Mowbray will not take this tie lightly as he looks to add his first trophy,if you don't include the one which they have already bagged in London that is!!!
