Celtic came away from Easter Road yesterday with all three points after a Georgios Samaras header sealed the 1-0 victory for the Hoops but the main talking points were the sending off of winger Aiden McGeady and the superb form of keeper Artur Boruc that made sure the Hoops kept up the early pace with Rangers at the top of the league.

Easter Road is a hard ground to go to at any stage of the season and yesterday was no different.

Celtic knew they would be in for a tough time and boy did they get it and with old boy John Hughes in charge of the Edinburgh side and Tony Mowbray going back to his old stomping ground along with a few players who have worn the Hoops of Celtic and the green and white of Hibs with such pride in attendance, this was always going to be a wee bit spicy!

As games go this was a fairly decent match with both sides having chances to win the game but thanks to some inspired goalkeeping from Celtic's number one Artur Boruc,he made sure that there was only going to be one winner!

The goal that decided the match was a great cross from Andy Hinkel, who was recently linked with Premiership side Hull but on this performance many Hoops fans will hope that he stays at Celtic Park!

Great ball from the German full back, straight to the head of Georgios Samaras who planted his header beyond the helpless Stack in the Hibs goal.

In truth the big striker could have had a hat-trick as an earlier header rattled the crossbar and Stack saved when he was one on one with the big Celtic striker.

After Celtic scored in to turned into the Artur Boruc show,as time and time again the big keeper would foil the Hibs forwards and in each save seemed to be better than the one before!

Riordan seemed to be having a particularly flustrating time as he looked to have something to prove to his former employers but thanks to the terrific form of the Celtic keeper, the Hibs forward failed to break through.

As goalkeeping performances go and laying the ghosts of past performances on this ground go,Artur need not worry about playing at Easter Road ever again! He was fantastic!

Celtic's victory on the day was made even more sweeter as they had to fight for this win after seeing Aiden McGeady sent off for a second yellow card offence and in the week of the Eduardo scandal, what was Aiden shown his second yellow for? That's right diving!!

Now,I have looked at the incident a few times and still think that it was a bit harsh on Aiden as this is just not the kind of thing he does!

Paul Hanlon does come towards him and maybe just brushing against him but I think it was Aiden's speed that took him to the floor, certainly not a dive!

But in the week of all that had happened with other various incidents then perhaps it is no surprise that he was sent off.

The most important thing was another three points in the bag as the league stops for the International break, fingers crossed that Scotland and others get the results required to keep the dream of South Africa alive.

Tuesday will be a day that many Celtic fans will hope sees one or two new faces come through the door at Celtic Park before the transfer window slams shut, although a few players could be heading out also with O'Dea,Killen,Brown and McDonald in the frame, many will hope that both Scott Brown and Scott McDonald are not tempted down south and this time tomorrow it will all be a bit more clearer!
