Match Preview:- Swansea

This weekend, Bolton face Brendan Rodgers' Swansea side. Bolton have failed to win in their last two, while Swansea picked up their first win, since beat Man City by beating Steve Kean's Blackburn. Swansea and Bolton have already face each other twice this season, in a one sided 2-0 defeat for Bolton in October at the Liberty Stadium, and in a competitive Fourth round FA cup game at the Reebok, which Bolton won 2-1, thanks to a goals from Eagles and Pratley scoring against his former team.
Swansea will provide a tough test for Bolton, the performances of Swansea's on loan midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson has earned him, March's Player of the month. Bolton who have had an eleven day break in Dubai, will be hoping to replicate, the performances against Wolves and Blackburn and pick up three points

Ryo, Marv and the Arsenal

Hey folks, how’s it banging? So the transfer window is now officially closed and it has been a pretty interesting “deadline day” for the whites. Earlier in the day, we secured Arsenal midfielder Ryo Miyachi on loan for the reminder of the season, and then with seemingly no time to spare at all, it has been confirmed that young Watford striker Marvin Sordell has signed a three and a half year deal with the club. Along with the earlier acquisition of defender Tim Ream, I would say this has been a fairly successful transfer window (I also said this back in August), even if we have missed out on a few exciting names that have been muted (Zaha and Iturbe).

We'll be back

I don't know if anyone is interested in reading anything about Bolton Wanderers at the current time, I know I'm not. I have a proclivity toward ignoring the grim, and this is exactly the tried and tested method I'm sticking to during this loathsome period, I shall simply assume that eventually our poor run will just disappear, perhaps this weekend at Wigan.

I even found myself showing some interest in the national team just to allow myself the joys of supporting a “winning team,” I should have known better. I could instead just post an essay entitled “Why Arnold Schwarzenegger is the most underrated actor of his generation,” however, this would probably be seen as an attempt to shy away from my BWFC responsibilities (not that much BWFC things are happening)... anyway, here goes.

Being on top, being out wide, being a songwriter

So there we have it folks, top of the league, albeit thanks to the letter B. Learn it in semaphore and signal those flags across the stands when we come up against our closest rivals Manchester City this weekend. Actually, that would just be bizarre, but let's be honest, being on top is the most fun position to be in, now let us see how long we can last.

QPR

Tomorrow the stagecoach heads to Loftus road to play the championship champions Queens Park Rangers. This game is the beginning of a new season for the wanderers, a season with difficult games coming thick, fast and early, and this game provides us with the perfect chance to get a good three away points and start as we mean to go on, well, until the week after.

Quick one while we wait.... and wait...

Waiting, always waiting, but still no announcement of any new signings. It feels like the volcano is close to eruption, however, as it stands, it is still dormant. The squad numbers are still far too low, and Coyle really needs to work fast to bring in some quantity to the ranks, even if he can’t get any quality. I was hoping for some new faces before tonight’s friendly against the Shakers, and to be honest, as soon as I click “publish” and unleash this blog to the… few, I just know the Volcano will erupt and cause a small town in south west Peru to be evacuated (this fictional volcano eruption has caused no injuries).

Lightning.... This is soccer!

I am writing this Blog while following the live happenings of our next pre-season opponents, Orlando City SC. They are currently playing the Rochester Rhinos and are leading 2-1 in the 67th minute, however, as the twitter feed has informed me, “we are currently in a lightning delay”. The casual phrasing of this tweet makes me wonder if this is a regular occurrence in the football leagues of the USA. I now feel slightly worried for the Wanderers when we take on “lions” tomorrow; I want my Paul Robinson to return home un-fried please.

Something please happen...

I am definitely coming down with the tell-tale symptoms of football withdrawal; mild depression, blisters on my fingers (from re-playing Metal Gear Solid for the 8th time, you know… when Ocelot tortures Snake and you have to franticly tap survive), and the fact that I seem to be enjoying tennis. There are no known remedies to this ailment, the only thing that is keeping me going in this dark period is the geomagnetic storm building overhead containing a soon to be “active” transfer window, and an impending joyous pre-season schedule.

Transfers, Bulletpoints and Scandinavia.... What?

It is summer, the time of year that association football fans scour for knowledge of any potential transfer targets their club may be after. Some rumours may be exciting, some may be slightly depressing and some may be so ridiculous; you would rather read news about the annual supporters’ cup in Scandinavia.

Roberto and Jerome. (as close to Robson and Jerome as I could get.)

I hope that Owen Coyle is on his holidays in Mauritius, or Paisley, and perhaps enjoying an easy reading chapter based novel by Dan Brown on the beach, or on the Braes, and not taking notice of the managerial goings on of the Premier League. He has always said that if any of his players had ambitions to go onto bigger and better things, he would not stand in their way, and I can only assume his own ambitions are ruled by the same philosophy.

Bolton vs City - Rubbish all over the pitch.

There really was an abundance of rubbish on the pitch; (see picture) I think it was down to the variable wind-stir coupled with a large attendance of litter loutish people in a stadium.

Who doesn't love a top-half finish?

Firstly, lets get the Blackpool talk done. It was a very good game, both teams went for it and even SKD seemed to have transformed into some kind of chip-monster trying a few cheeky shots that made me smile. However, we lost and there’s no defence, literally, the defending was poor.
