Bolton Wanderers

When was the last time following Bolton was like this? Coming out of a frosty transfer window, Bolton are one of the few basement-dwellers with any sort of momentum. This feels like a brand new team, a brand new atmosphere and a sunnier situation, at a time when traditionally supporting Bolton is at it's worst.

It feels like a long time since the FA Cup has been a priority - or even a consideration as a Bolton fan - and it feels like a long time since a Bolton team emerged from such a rotten month (Arsenal, Arsenal, Burnley and Liverpool) genuinely aggrieved at only securing three points.

Just looking around at the other glum faces at the bottom of the table, you can tell that nobody was particularly pleased with the transfer window, whether it's because of the weak pound or agents preference to wait for the World Cup to secure moves for their players, but there is plenty for Bolton fans to be excited about.

Hull and Portsmouth proved that they didn't have the money to save themselves this time, and even those pimps at West Ham can't be as happy as they seem to be with the scraps they collected in the last few days in January. Even teams that are starting to slide like Sunderland and Stoke can't really say that they they've done enough to keep them out of the dirty cockfight that's about to start at the bottom of the table.

A month ago, could you have said with any certainty, that there might be three worse teams than Bolton? If you were telling the truth, probably not, but after two years devoid of optimism or progress, every inch that Bolton can put between themselves and the Championship feels like an awning chasm.

Owen Coyle was the move that Phil Gartside had to make in January, and he did it. Bringing in Weiss and Wiltshire, and the exciting progress of Lee Chung-Yong, are all things that couldn't have happened as long as Gary Megson was at the club. Coyle's given the whole club a shot in the arm. Are there three worse teams than Bolton today? Yeah, probably.

6 teams worse than Bolton are:
Burnley
Wolves
Portsmouth
Hull
Wigan
West Ham

and even stoke, birmingham, sunderland and many more arent better than us, we have been even more unlucky than most seasons.
Man City are going for a top 4 spot and we were better than them, but our luck is very bad at the moment.

we arent a "lucky" team, if one linesman said Kevin Davies punched Carragher, and the other linesman says Carragher hit Davies, its always Davies who get the call against him.
