It is getting hard to argue that Bolton don't deserve to be 19th. Are Bolton any better than Wolves, who beat Bolton to get Kevin Doyle this summer? Are they any better than Pompey, West Ham or Hull?
The Kevin Doyle thing is an important point too, because even thought they missed out on Doyle, some combination of Megson and Gartside still (unofficially) spent £10 million this summer. There is evidence out there that Bolton's financial situation is looking increasingly grim.
It's not easy when Jussi Jaaskelainen, Matty Taylor, Kevin Davies, Gary Cahill and Johan Elmander have all signed fairly fat contracts recently. It would certainly be acceptable if there was evidence that these core players are going keep the club up and hopefully take us forward, but that's looking less likely every week.
After the Man City game this week, Bolton play West Ham (H), Wigan (A), Burnley (A) and Hull City (H). By the time we get to January, we'll have a pretty clear view of where this team is going.
Meanwhile, Megson has to be hanging on by his fingertips. He can't keep blaming the players and pointing to isolated 20-minute chunks of pressure as evidence that this team is about to turn it around, can he? How late in the season and how far down the table is Phil Gartside going to leave the decision?

Th the board will not make the decision, they are too scared to admit they are wrong!!!
Us supporters need to make the decision for them.
either the ginger one goes or us supporters all stick together and either:
A: get together before, during and after each match to get the dead wood OUT.
B: just abandon all future home games untill mr mugson goes.
as a supporter of some 36 years i think im well within my rights to say..... mr megson you are so far up your own backside you will soon be able to lick your own lungs...
The sooner there are 3 million and one on the dole the better..

When Big Sam was in control and things were looking rosy, Gartside was never off Tv spouting off and basking in the glory. Then Big Sam left and Gartside, acting on impulse took on Little Sam. Disaster! Sack Little Sam, bring in the Ginger Minge. Even bigger disaster! Spend loads of money, well it's loads of money when you consider what Big Sam was allowed to spend. What has he bought? Poor to average players. The Ginger Minge has now become the Ginger Whinge. It's everyones fault but his. 'The players are not doing what I tell them', he whines. He screams and howls like a banshee all through the game. If he just shut his gob for 90 minutes we might get a result. He, and his coaching staff have only had all week to work out how to tackle the opposition. Why doesn't he just go! I am sick and tired of watching his demented antics on the touchline. Enough!! Wanderers have seen the last of me until we've seen the last of him. Gartside shoud go with him.

It is painful to watch a club I truly love go through such a bad period. Megson does not understand Bolton at all and never will. Even if we win all our matches during the christmas period, i highly doubt Bolton will be able to sustain that kind of form with Megson around. He is a good championship manager. Bolton needs someone who can take the club to Europe. We have been in the premier league for so long and still find ourselves stuck at the bottom half of the table. It is time for a change. 2 years is a long time. Time to go Megson.
