After a successful December, the new year has brought ups and downs for Tangerine fans so far.

The highlight no doubt being another 2-1 win over Liverpool securing a memorable double over the the most decorated team in English football.

Ongoing speculation over Charlie Adam's future cannot be helping at the moment and Peter Odemwingie's last gasp winner at the weekend was the low point of 2011 so far.

Midlands clubs Aston Villa and Birmingham have had bids turned down from Blackpool for skipper Charlie Adam.

Adam has been the heartbeat of all the good things happening on the pitch so far this season and it is certainly not surprising that other Premier League clubs have took notice.

Ian Holloway has publicly criticised Gerrard Houllier for the way he approached Adam. The player has not been letting speculation effect his performances on the pitch.

Adam has the backing of the board, the manager, and all the fans, I'm sure he will stay at the club at least until the summer.

Another positive has been the recent goal scoring form of front man DJ Campbell.

The English striker has netted five times in his last six including winners against Stoke, Sunderland and Liverpool.

He was unlucky on a couple of occasions not to add to his tally at The Hawthorns so don't bet against him to be finding the net again this weekend.

Kelvin Etuhu and Bradley Wright-Phillips appear to be Ollie's immediate January transfer targets.

Other Premier League clubs are also looking at the two players, so we will watch this space to see if Ollie can pull off some more transfer magic to boost the squad going into the back end of the season.

Three home games now remain for the Seasiders in January. The fixture wetting the appetite of the Tangerine army will no doubt be the visit of league leaders Manchester United next Tuesday 25th.
