Successive Premier League defeats to Manchester City and Birmingham leaves Blackpool 14th in the table, just one point better off than 18th placed Liverpool.

Since returning from the International break, Ian Holloway's side have suffered defeats to the men in blue.

A gallant effort at Bloomfield Road against big spenders Manchester City ended in a 3-2 defeat after super sub Marlon Harewood netted late goals.

The following week, individual errors cost the Seasiders any chance of picking up points at St. Andrews against a Birmingham side only to have been beaten once at home in the past two seasons.

Manager Ian Holloway has been a breath of fresh air since his introduction to the Premier League. His footballing philosophy is one that every fan wants their club to have; attack, attack, attack.

Ollie always finishes every fixture with more attack minded players on the pitch than defensive players and will never settle for a draw, no matter who the opposition is.

It was that philosophy that nearly upset richest club in the world Manchester City. In the end Blackpool can count themselves unlucky to have come away with no points from a game in which they were more than competitive in.

The game ultimately was decided by a goal of the highest quality from World Cup winner David Silva who weaved in and out of rushing defenders before calmly placing the ball into Matt Gilks' goal.

Ollie entertained us all again in his midweek press conference following the Manchester City game with his outburst about Wayne Rooney. He had the nerve to say what everybody in football was thinking, and we love him for it!

After publicly passionately criticising Wayne Rooney for holding Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United ransom to an increase on his already astronomical annual salary, Rooney made one of the biggest u-turns in most recent sporting history and signed a new five year deal.

I am sure that the powers that be at Manchester United would have agreed with every word that came out of Holloway's mouth regarding Rooney's demands. What a hero!

The fixture away to Birmingham was almost lost before the Seasiders started to get into the game. An uncharacteristic mistake from captain Charlie Adam proved to be the catalyst for Birmingham's all important second goal.

Next up is a home fixture on Monday night against high flying West Brom. Expect an all out attacking game of football with plenty of goals.

14th in the table after nine games, most fans would have taken that at the start of the season, with the highlight so far being the unforgettable 2-1 away victory against Liverpool.

Get behind the lads on Monday night, and we'll all be feeling glad all over again.
