I resisted the temptation of venting my spleen after coming in from the match last night in order to give a more balanced view of things this morning. Quite frankly, nothing has changed my view, we were shocking! That game highlights all that is wrong with this league. One mediocre side that incredibly is clinging onto the shirt tales of those wanting a Champions League spot and another team that ridiculously, having scored one solitary goal in five games, is still in mid table.

That said, if Wolves persist in short changing their fans by playing a team of reserves in games they feel they have no chance of winning then there is hope for us all. The trend was initiated by Rovers as this column has alluded to in the past.

The Chelsea cup tie has faded into the memory and all is not well in the Rovers ranks. Despite seeking pastures new, Benni should have started last night and so too should hoilett. Jason Roberts gives everything to the cause but is not someone who will score the goals at this level. Diouf and Pedersen offered nothing going forward last night and equally their defensive duties were called into question. If three replacements can be found in January then it may be time to say our farewells.

The lack of pace in the team is becoming so much more obvious. I still have the VHS tapes of the seasons from 20 years ago. I may have a look at them over the holiday period and wallow in the nostalgia of seeing Scott Sellars 'flying' down the wing and Frank Stapleton 'bursting' through the middle. Trust me, those two boys weren't quick but are like Usain Bolt compared to this lot!

There is no stability in the side at the momment. Dunn and Grella's inability to stay fit has not helped but the strikers are playing musical chairs and there is no consistent form with the formation.

We will learn alot from the Spurs game on Saturday and if the team is capable of bouncing back. Let's hope our decent home record will see us through.

It was not as bad as that.YES we were awful first half hour but we did improve, having made six changes in three days takes time to gell and I do feel for Kalinic,I do hope his luck and his finishing improve. He did try unlike the few have beens who looked awful..My worry is the injury to Emo hope he recovers soon.
