GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Unlike Footymad, who write: Derby County sneak a one gola win in their first pre-season game against Burton Albion
I wonder if they know about spell-check? Or has it been called a gola from this season?
It was very much a game of two halves, Nigel experimenting with the ingredients at his disposal, and Patrick Kisnorbo, on trial with the Rams, had a particularly good game playing more than an hour for Derby. Patrick Fabio Maxime Kisnorbo was a favourite with Leicester, and was born in Melbourne, County of Bourke, to a Mauritian father and an Italian mother from Trieste. Because of his mother's birth place, Kisnorbo holds an Italian passport, which allows him to bypass European Union restrictions under the Bosman ruling.
Good to see Giles Barnes playing, not yet to potential however. In the 19th minute, Patrick Kisnorbo headed a corner from Dean Moxey, going in or just wide until headed in by Chris Porter for the opening goal of the pre-season, and the winner.
First half team: Bywater, Connolly, Kisnorbo, Leacock, Nyatanga, Croft, Savage, Fotheringham, Moxey, Porter, Barnes, subs Mendy & Pringle.
Shroots free kick from 25 yards was saved by Bywater.
Second half team: Deaney, Beardsley, Kisnorbo, Buxton, McEverley, Davies, Green, Fotheringham, Teale, Dickinson, Varney, subs Addison & Pearson.
Aussie Kisnorbo headed one off the crossbar, as we headed to a draw with the Aussies in Cardiff in the first test. Teale looked as if he might double our score, Pearson replaced Fotheringham, who is worth taking on, with 10 minutes left, and it was good to see Miles Addison returning, replacing Kisnorbo, who impressed. Aussie Aussie Aussie!
Arnold Town on Tuesday, with more goals or golas promised. Blackburn are at Cambridge, so we're still at the ABC stage.
