Steve Warnock knew what to do when Matt Duke fumbled. Steve had been booked in the first minute for over-enthusiasm, crashing into Mendy. Duke dropped the ball under pressure from Roque Santa Cruz, who passed it to Steve to slide sidefooted into the empty net. A minute later, a long clearance bounced through to Pedersen, Warnock followed through on to his neat lay-off, past Nathan Doyle and squared low to Andrews for the second.
Brown had to replace the winded Robinson after half-time - Jason that is - and Phil Brown took off Geovanni and Kilbane for Barnby & Cousin. Marney & Pedersen were sent off as emotions took over, and Ashby halved the gap with a drive into the ground which sailed over Brown and in for 1-2, Still, Blackburn dug it out as Sam said afterwards, despite the level of commitment Hull showed, with numbers forward.
Would-you-adam-and-eve-it Middlesbrough beat Liverpool 2-0 at home, Stoke went 2-0 down at Aston Villa and equalised with 2 in 3 minutes at the end. Means above long-lost West Brom, there are the three of them on 26 points. Still, we have a game in hand and the best goal difference, so if it stays like this, we're saved! Two Wednesday games to come, Everton at home, Fulham away, and we need two or three points from the two games somehow. We're not going down, OK?
