Martin Woods has just given a free kick away for the Derby Rams against Doncaster, the battle of the D's. Kris Commons was injured and didn't start but Robbie Savage used to take free kicks for Blackburn. He's over it... and SCORRRRRRRES! GOOOOOAAAALLLL! Top left corner, 3 minutes into the 2nd half. Robbie's first one for us, but we're not out of the Woods yet - he's just taken a corner, then put a shot wide to make up for giving away the free kick... and Doncaster have equalised with a cross in from Wilson for a header from Heffernan. 1-1. 14,435 crowd, including 3,310 Rams fans. I guess we could use Robbie on loan from Derby for the rest of the season... Steve Davies kicked out at a player and there's a 20-man fight with 15 minutes to go. No cards. Corner no. 3 for Doncaster. Half-cleared, and a volley from Wilson 3 or 4 yards out goes in - I guess it bounced awkwardly, can't believe Bywater made an error, but it went over his hands. 17 minutes left as Savage tries another free kick, but no power, possibly a cross. 4th corner for Doncaster, who will take the Rams' 15th place if the score stays like this. The Rams put on Aussie Mile Sterjovski for Paul Green, who gets a standing ovation, reflecting his decade at Doncaster. Bywater has to save at point-blank range. Jason Price coming on for James Coppinger for Doncaster. Bywater sends one all the way to the other end, but it's a weak shot from Porter, and high and wide from Savage. Rams get their 2nd corner, but not good. Byfield is on for Heffernan. Lockwood's on for Spicer for Doncaster to use up a few more seconds. 2-1 the home side, let's see if Blackburn can avoid that.
Sam, you look the part more than Incey up here, but it's going to be tight? ''I am anxious about where we are". Where's that? ''We are in the mire and the only things that will get us out of it are victories and points on the board. Generally, performances help you get that. But while we have had consistent performances we have not had a consistent level of points to go with them. That is a big worry.''
Stoke are only 2 points above us, and we have a game in hand. ''The clubs above us are now pulling away. The amount of clubs involved at the bottom is reducing.'We have to make sure we are not stuck down there."
OK, it was the B team who lost to Coventry, and the A team was robbed by Man U. It's not possible for a team like this to be relegated. ''We have to keep the faith. We are good enough but we have to be determined and resilient enough as well.''
Lawro seems to think Hull will be happy with a 1-1 draw. A clean sheet has to be the priority, then nick a goal on the counter. 1-0 I think Lawro.
