The big day is nearly upon us. In five days time, Stevie Carr will lead out a Birmingham City side spurred on by the presence of 31,000 Bluenoses, roaring them on.

As the players line-up for the start of the game, they will take a look behind them and see a sea of Blue and White behind them. They will fight for every ball, jostle and scrap for every bit of possession and never give up. They will make history.

...kill our spirit.

A week can change an awful lot. A week ago, this article would've been pessimistic, and this correspondent on a downer. Blues were close to the relegation zone, and looked a less than certain bet to reach the Carling Cup Final.

About
Arun Verma Arun Verma - I'm a student, and a massive Birmingham City fan. Football has played a massive part in my life since I was just a child, and the World Cup in '98 turned me into a footballaholic; my very first love was the beautiful game. My aim for the future is to become a sports journalist and in little over a year, I can say that I feel extremely privileged to have received the opportunities that have come my way. Apart from ESPN Soccernet, I also write for the official Birmingham City Football Club Matchday Magazine, Made in Brum, which is an unofficial Blues magazine, and www.joysandsorrows.co.uk (using the tagname akvbcfc).
