748. That rather large number is the number of consecutive minutes Manuel Neuer has kept a clean sheet this season, setting club records for consecutive Bundesliga matches and total matches. And while the numbers are impressive, even Neuer admits that he has considerably less to do than he has in the past at Schalke.

"I've had to adapt my game," he told fcbayern.de, "It's not been easy, but you get used to it."

And while you can argue the competition hasn't been at a premium level, and I would beg to differ, it still is a great showing of our defensive prowess this year. A very marked up-tick from our defensive form in 2010: Our opponents are getting nearly no shots-on-goal this campaign. So, Neuer's form can be shared by the entire Bayern squad.

Young Nils Petersen, getting the start up front because of Mario Gomez' groin injury, shined with his second Bundesliga goal this term, taking an excellent through ball from Franck Ribery.

"Franck passed at exactly the right moment, and it’s my job to put away chances like that, although it took two tries, unfortunately."

And speaking of Franck, how fantastic has he been? Finally, it seems like he is enjoying himself on the pitch again. And when he's laughing, everybody's happy. You can see it on the faces of everyone on the pitch. This team is, well, a team in every sense of the word. Everyone is helping offensively and on defense as well.

And we'll need the team all clicking together for the next couple of matches. Heynckes has almost everyone available to him as well. Mario Gomez will get the start, and Gustavo, Robben and van Buyten are back in full training programs. The only absentees will be Olic and Breno, whose house burned down on Tuesday night.

Heynckes warned that Leverkusen's 4-1 defeat at home to FC Koeln should not be thought of as the norm, but rather a slip-up, and our boys should be ready for a rough match in the Allianz on Saturday. Although, since I'm going to be at the match, I'm very much hoping for an outcome like last season: You know, where the mighty Leverkusen came to Munich with a chance at winnng the league, and we beat the stuffing out of 'em, 5-1.

I'd be happier with Neuer keeping his amazing clean sheet record, though. 838 has a particularly nice ring to it.

9ice article as usual 748 minutes of play time when last did we keep this?,i know everything is looking fine right now,but am afraid we will not lose this hype to injuries for the like of ribery ,Gomez, and even the rock himself BOATENG.We need to get a striker by january,Gomez and Peterson will not be sufficinet for an eyeing treble.Mia san mia.

well written, i hope the team stays injury free especially robben. I have a good feeling this is going to be our year. I hope we meet barcelona and avenge the previous thrashing they gave us thereby announcing ourselves to the world. looking forward to your next article.

748 is a good number, but totally wrong! Hildebrandt had 884 minutes, Kahn had 802 with a clean sheet in Bundesliga matches, so I doubt Neuer broke any club records. In fact, in Bundesliga Neuer only has 478 minutes clean sheet, that's not counting CL and Cup games though.

But anyways, go Bayern!

Sad to hear about Breno. Word is is that he's in a psych ward in Munich and is now being charged for arson for the fire that burned down his house. Indeed, our beloved football is a crazy business that propels professionals that lack fitness/playtime to do extraordinary things. All the best to him and his family in what must be a very difficult situation.

Other than the drama, our Bayern ist sehr fantastisch! It's somewhat unfair to see how dominant this team is, and this is without Arjen Robben in the lineup. And I can only think that this will strengthen the position of the national team with each positive result. Bis morgen!
