Is it possible that for once in this turbulent, distressing season I am happy?! Say it ain't so!
You may think it a bit worrisome that our future coach, Jupp Heynckes, lost to Bayern Munich 5-1 on Sunday, but I don't really see a cause for concern here. Leverkusen have been crumbling at Munich since 1989. It's almost a time-honoured tradition.

Who could have forseen this match being as crucial as it is? With all the subtexts? The large and small stories?
Jupp Heynckes, on one hand, has a shot winning the first ever Bundesliga title for Bayer Leverkusen. On the other, he's facing the team he will manage next season; in a match they must win to qualify for Champions League competiton.

Since 1970, Uli Hoeness, has lived and breathed Bayern Munich. As a player from 1970-'79 and as front office from '79 onwards, he has managed to rack up an astonishing 18 Bundesliga titles, 9 DFB-Pokals, 3 European Cups, an Intercontinental Cup, a UEFA Cup and, of course, a Champions League title.
