So, this is it. Not the result I, nor any of you, wanted… but… If I said I wasn’t disappointed in the loss, would you understand?

I flew to Madrid on the wings of a prayer for a treble, looking for the one last trophy to celebrate an absolutely magical season. And while die Roten stumbled, a bit, in their last match; the Nerazzurri fully deserved to hoist the cup at the end of 90 minutes.

Madrid. I am here. I still can't believe I'm here, but I am.

And this is it. The Champions League final. Bayern Muenchen gegen Inter Milan. Wow.

I'm in a hazy frame of mind, due to a lack of horizontal sleep... and the utter incredulousness of it all. To say I'm astonished would be a gross understatement.

I've got two blogs left here this season: This one, and one in the near future. You know, the one that hopefully contains tears of joy and confetti, posted in bier-fueled ecstasy... from Munich.

CAS Reject Ribery Appeal
Ballack Out of World Cup

Damn, damn, damn.

“Berlin, Berlin! Wir fahren nach Berlin!” It’s the chant that was sung by the Bayern faithful after Arjen Robben’s brilliant extra-time goal against Schalke 04, back in March, that propelled die Roten to this DFB Pokal final match against Werder Bremen.

Since the 3-0 win over Olympique Lyon to seal our place in the Champions League final in Madrid, and the 3-1 over Bochum last Saturday to essentially give us the Bundesliga title, I have pondered what to write. And thought. And agonized. And paced.

I’ve got nothing. I’m speechless.
