Although a 1 - 1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday wasn’t the best result, at least we were saved the ignominy of Leverkusen going 9 points clear.
The problems we’ve had all season continue to haunt us. Namely, we can’t seem to get it together on set pieces, and our crosses in to the box have much to be desired. At this point, we’re not really crossing in to the box, as we’re more likely to cross over or to cross just short of. Ugh.

Sigh. Not only am I terribly distraught about the death of Robert Enke, I’ve also got to be alarmed at the state of mein Verein. I sit, writing this, in my Bayern fleece, drinking coffee out of my Bayern mug, idly fiddling with my Bayern bracelet (which hasn’t come off in over a year), wondering where it’s all gone wrong.
After another drubbing by Bordeaux, which sees us likely making a first-round exit in Champions League competition (I have to root for Bordeaux now, really?), I figured the least we could do is man up and take away 3 points from the Schalke match. Or, as it seems, not.

Note: Leaving an old job and starting a new one has seriously cut in to my footie-writing time as of late. And I do so apologize! However, I find myself back in a (somewhat) normal routine and am happy to be here, in front of a keyboard and with a match looming in the very near future.
I couldn’t help but feeling, after the first leg of the Bordeaux - Bayern tie, that we somehow came out a winner. It was the sloppiest match this season, by far (and there have been several of those), however Butt’s penalty-saving heroics, after red cards by Thomas Mueller and Daniel van Buyten, respectively, had me jumping off of my pub stool, shouting gleefully.
