It feels good to have that 315 pound---- er, minute--- monkey off our backs. Mueller, finally scoring a goal for Bayern against Freiburg on Saturday, shouted in jubilation. So did I.

Bayern’s without Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, Ivica Olic and Edison Braafheid for the match in Bordeaux. And Breno is listed as doubtful. However, Mark van Bommel and Martin Demichelis are both back, healthy, and figure to feature in the starting eleven.

Rumor has it Hamit Altintop might be starting at left-back, switching Phillip Lahm over to the right side. I figure van Buyten and Demichelis will start as center-backs. In the midfield, van Bommel in the holding position, with Schweinsteiger and Tymoschuk on the flanks. And the young stud, Thomas Mueller, backing up the forwards, Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni.

Of course, the biggest trouble we face in Bordeaux is Yoann Gorcuff, who, contrary to reports in the press this week, figures to feature in Bordeaux’s starting eleven.

It’d be lovely to take away three points this evening, as it would put Bayern in great position to go through to the last 16. But, realistically, I’d settle for a point here, as both teams have been not-up-to-par as of late.

I’m hoping to be proven wrong.

Auf geht’s Bayern!

I would have to agree here, but would Lahm not be at left back with Altintop at right back??? Failing that Lell could come in a right back.

it would actually not be muller backing up the fowards... considering he got a red card last game... as well as van buyten so it will be badstuber and demichellis in the back lahm left back altintop right back van bommel at defensive mid tymochuk right mid schweinsteiger will play attacking mid behind toni and klose and then van gaal could throw pranjic at left mid considering all the injuries we have and the recent loss of sosa going back on loan. get ur shit together buddy
