My disappointment in the result of Hamburg vs. Bayern, was only overshadowed by my disappointment in a certain television channel‘s--- rhymes with “MoleTV”--- coverage of the match. What in God’s name possessed them to switch over to the beginning of a Barcelona match (against who?) when they had the ability to at least show a split screen?! Gah!

And now we face Juventus…

Gentle reader, you must pardon me, since I just got back from a week of Oktoberfest. Yes, in Munich. And I would’ve blogged from there, but my ethernet didn’t work in the hotel--- and then I lost my Blackberry as in what I could only describe as a “The Hangover”-type incident. No, Mike Tyson and a baby weren’t involved--- but a tiger may have been (wink wink nudge nudge).

I was / am / have been very lucky to have friends with, arguably, the best seats on the pitch at the Allianz Arena. (Thanks, boys!) I was pleasantly invited to watch the Bundesliga Bavarian derby of Bayern vs. newly-promoted Nuernberg, and the DFB Pokal match vs. Rot Weiss Oberhausen.

What I (in my infinite wisdom) took away from the match against Dortmund:

1) I’m really missing Martin Demichelis.
2) Although neither Rensing or Butt are fabulous, either will do admirably once the problem / question of our central defenders is settled. (It’s got to be a nightmare to try and fill Ollie Kahn’s boots.)
3) Heck… we can just out-gun our opponents. Score them in to submission. It won’t be pretty all the time, but it will damn sure be entertaining!
