Since the last international break, it’s fair to say that the new Arsenal’s form has been excellent. We’re still fighting back, and we can’t get complacent over recent form, but even the most optimistic of Gooners couldn’t have predicted the relatively rapid improvement of our newly constructed side after the defeat away at Blackburn at the start of September.

We can now realistically challenge for the top four, and despite those around us in the top half also winning at the weekend, we’re well positioned going into the next international break. In some ways, the two weeks off will be good for those not involved in international fixtures, as they’ve put a lot of effort into games during the last few weeks. However, every Arsenal fan will be keeping everything crossed and waiting anxiously for news about the fitness of our international players when they return to the club in a week and a half.

I’m sure I’m not the only Arsenal fan who is seriously worried that Robin van Persie, or others, will get a long term injury in a friendly. It’s happened before, and inevitably will happen again. Just please can it not be now.

The West Brom win reminded me of the old teams from the Arsene Wenger era that we loved. There wasn’t a moment in the game that I thought we’d lose. We used to do similar things to teams at Highbury, where we’d give out an aura that there was no way the opposition were going to get a sniff of a result. The 3-0 victory was very comfortable, as West Brom didn’t really threaten until late on when the win was already safe.

Arguably we haven’t had that aura in recent years as we haven’t had players that the opposition are truly scared off. They’d line up at Highbury and see Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires, Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry and already think they were beaten. We clearly haven’t got the same number of world class players now, but in Robin van Persie, the opposition must look at him in his current form and know that he’s likely to find the net. The others around him are feeding off the Dutchman’s aura, and we’re now seeing the likes of Aaron Ramsey stride across the pitch with more confidence and he’s really dominating games in midfield.

We have to hope this next international break doesn’t disrupt the confidence the team are playing with, as confidence in sport, and particularly in this Arsenal team, as we’ve seen in the last few months, can be extremely fragile. While the team is on a high, we have to take advantage of it and be claiming as many points as possible. We’re definitely doing that at the moment.

As amazing as the win at Chelsea was last week, there were still questions over the defence. They still haven’t been fully answered, and won’t be until we go on a consistent long run of good defensive performances, but two clean sheets in a week since Chelsea is a good start. As mentioned in the last blog post, we now have a good problem at the back over who plays. Thomas Vermaelen has played three games since returning from injury, and in those we’ve conceded one goal. It was also good to see the attacking side of his game on Saturday as it offers the team another dimension when going forward. His finish for the second goal was excellent and, although he headed wide, he found space in the box from a set piece in the second half. Laurent Koscielny had another good game, leaving Per Mertesacker as the man to miss out this time.

As mentioned, Aaron Ramsey is playing really well, but as much as his individual performances have improved, the understanding he now has with Alex Song and Mikel Arteta is very good. What is also encouraging, is that we now have midfielders that are confident enough in themselves, and more importantly are confident in the ability of their team mates behind them, to feel that they can make runs into the box and not leave the team vulnerable at the back. Admittedly, West Brom didn’t offer much going forward, however we regularly saw Ramsey, Arteta and even Song, join attacks and try to break into the box to give other players options and support Robin van Persie.

I think that is key to seeing that we’re not reliant on our Dutch captain. We’re getting other players in and around the box, it just so happens that van Persie is in the right place to finish off most of the moves.

The third goal on Saturday was classic Arsenal. Despite the major personnel changes to the squad, it was refreshing to see them score a typical Arsenal goal under Arsene Wenger. The passing was crisp, the movement was excellent, and the finish from Arteta was perfect. You could just keep adding the superlatives for that goal.

I think there were a lot of expectations of Mikel Arteta to score a lot of goals as an attacking midfielder to compensate for the losses of Fabregas and Nasri, however in the last few weeks it’s been important for the team to work hard defensively, and Arteta has typified that by doing the simple things well and giving the team a good base from which to attack. He’s been sitting deeper than Fabregas or Nasri did, leaving Ramsey to be the more creative midfielder. However, more attacking contributions from Arteta would be very welcome as he can finish extremely well. As soon as he received the ball back from Robin van Persie, it seemed inevitable he’d score.

A minor point I’ve noticed in recent weeks, that might seem daft, but I think shows how much the team are gelling, is how happy everyone looks when we score. The players all seem to love playing for Arsenal Football Club, and look pleased with every goal. The jubilation against Chelsea was understandable, but even a comfortable victory against West Brom brought massive smiles. It’s only a minor point, but helps with the general positive mood around the club. Just look back at Yossi Benayoun’s reaction to Arteta’s goal, lovely stuff.

Let’s hope this two week break doesn’t get in the way of the gradual improvement of this new Arsenal team. If they can show the old Arsenal-like aura again, score some brilliant team passing goals, keep the team spirit up and work hard for each other, we can continue moving towards the top four. We must not assume that Arsenal are now back, and neither can the team. The hard work must continue because as soon as the team stop working hard for each other, we can easily slip back to our early season form.

So in the next two weeks, lets reflect on the successful start to the recovery, concentrate on what we’ve done well, and make we get straight back to the same level against Norwich in two weeks’ time. In a reflective way, I’m going to watch John Terry slip over again. That just doesn’t get old.

Terrific article. YOu have my dream job, writing about the team you love, and any advice you could possibly give me, would be massively appreciated. You know what you are doing, and I'd love some help.

Sam Limbert: Thanks for your comment. Just keep writing, try and get yourself out there and opportunities should come.

Posted by Stewart on 11/07/2011

Good analysis as always. I haven't seen the highlights yet so can't comment on the game. Just hope we stay injury free and looking forward to getting Jack back.

Would like to add one thing that i don't think has been mentioned before, confidence doesn't just build a winning team from the inside but also attracts new fans and players from the outside.

Lets hope we can continue the momentum into next year and then sign some keys players in January.

Posted by acho ojike on 11/07/2011

right on spot. hopefully we shall get through the international break unscathed and then continue were we stopped then improve on it. we must not also rule out the possibility of finishing in the top two as the season is just eleven games old. am certain the other clubs on top now will have their own demons. lets also pray that good additions are made in january to support whats on ground. say, a striker, creative attacking mid-fielder and if neccesary a defender in the mould of vertoghen who can also double as a left back as gibbs is always out. but most importantly a striker to support vp10. so lets keep the faith.

Posted by acho ojike on 11/08/2011

praise for wenger for the wonderful work he has done with these guys but most importantly kudos to the boys for the will to prove the critics wrong. its evident that most of these recent wins were etched out of sheer resilience and will to survive . now with these recent wins especially the one against chelsea, you can see the confidence is coming back and more belief in their abilities. i see the team soaring even higher if this zeal is maintained and we dont get carried away by the recent wins. so called smaller clubs should be played with the same intensity and concentration coupled with purpose of play as we did the chelsea game. hopefully if new signings are made in january and the injured ones return, i doubt if any team can stop this team. like i said initially barring all odds dont loose sight of top two finish. just keep the faith.

I think the form of song has really help the team at the back. He is usually the one that bails Santo out when he gets caught up field. Goooooo Gunners!

Posted by edu on 11/08/2011

i think what most people were craving for was good work ethic in the team. I think we have that now. The likes of Arshavin arent playing much these days so its a plus to the squad. Arteta, Gervinho & Jenkinson got huge work rate which is good for the team.

Posted by yo on 11/08/2011

while there might not be the flair of Nasri, and the perfect chip of Fabregas available to arsenal anymore, I believe that the team now is more solid than before. This is because the fulcrum has gone from one man(Fab) to a few different ones in the midfield. Even when Wilshere, returns there i doubt he will get the playing time he had last year. Arteta is in his spot, and he looks like the stabilizer that arsenal needed. Jack is brilliant, but Arteta will start. Also Alex Song is immensely overrated. I dont understand people who want to get him out of the team when Jack comes back. Absolute rubbish. He never stops working, and if you want an example of his talent look at the buildup to Santos' goal against Chelsea... Absolute brilliance. Jenkinson looks great too. All this talk about him being athletically un-gifted is rubbish. The kid can move. He also has a Wicked cross as well. He might not be as agile as Sagna, but he rivals in everything else... And he is only 19. Forget Nasri.

Keep up your hard work Arsene Wenger and increase your additional strategy to re-cover the defeated goals point, my joyous praise to all players. Last week game was impressive with clean sheet but solve the weak defenses so far last week the game looked strong and defensive. I love to see every one player to score the goals, my praise to Van Persie performance this season.

Nice read Sam. Am hoping nothin goes wrong ova the international break.
Acho: I agree with you, Arsenal need a striker (Milito of Inter?) and a CAM or CM (I keep dreaming of Schweinsteiger in our midfield) cos apart from RVP, the team needs another dynamo or superstar who can turn on the style and give us that extra bit of class when we need it. We prob need another no-BS DM for wen/if Song gets injured. If we cud get another Sol Campbell, I think we wud b beastly @ d bac.
I've been wondering, what do you guys think of Arshavin as our CAM? I think he mite be able to do it, but he's kinda lazy when it comes to box-to-box running.
Overall, the game was good - dour at times, but def a very solid display of how to get a routine win - something we haven't been able to do with confidence for a while. The only dark spot in the game was Walcott, after dat magnifique display @ Chelsea I expected more from him, but he jus kept giving d ball to their LB. At least, Jenkinson was there 2 deliver.

Brilliant article and good comments, too. Totally agree with Yo, the team is more solid and more mature than the last 2-3 seasons. Alex Song is impressive and Ramsey and Arteta are getting better with each game. The deffense is improving, and finally we have a world-class goalkeeper!
Gooo Gunners!

The key to our success is rotation. Last week our captain got some rest in CL, and on Saturday he show the brilliant performance 1 goal, 2 assists. Same goes to the rest of our squad, especially in midfield. You can't expect Song to play every single match for the whole month. Another thing, our fan can enjoy the winning rather than booing recently. And most of our fan, including me, can't even wait for the next game to start. Last but not lease, I'd like to give my best wishes to our players to come out from meaningless friendly without injury. Let's show the world "We Are Gunner".

Posted by zebra on 11/08/2011

thanks for the article once again, Sam. always look forward to reading them.

i think the song comments have been accurate. he has been consistent and tough and great support. and, not only that, he has been able to put the ball through consistently as well. all along controlling his aggressive side without harsh fouls and needless yellows (since barton incident).

Sam, what do you make of Wilshire's return? where does he fit in the current team. and seeing as our defense is becoming more reliable, do you see any big signings this january in midfield or attack?

Sam Limbert: Thanks for your comment. I think Wilshere will be gradually reintroduced to the team when he returns, as the current three are playing well. I think he might rotate with Ramsey as Arteta is anchoring the team well with Song. I don't think AW will spend big in January, especially if we keep our good run going.

The 7 spot on the table says nothing about this "new Arsenal"! I think this year will be a good year for the Gunners. They have a great keeper,a decent defence[that is getting better],a good midfeild with Mikel Arteta ,Alex Song,Aaron Ramsey, and Jack Wilshere when he comes back from injury, then we have Theo Wallcott, and the leading scorer in the English Premier League my role model Robin Van Persie. Come on thats a great team.and sure Wenger can be blaimed but i think he is a great manager. Now lets go win some titles and show the league that we do not need to be from Manchester or have some rich owner to get us all stars!WENGER 4 KING !

Sam: while we have almost a two week break, may I suggest that you share with us your analysis and projections about what our close contenders, like Newcastle, Chelsea, Hotspur and Liverpool would perform in the remaining matches of the first half of this season and what Arsenal may finish.

Posted by Minae Mwangi on 11/08/2011

Good article it is. The arsenal revival is certainly back and to the ardent fans there is no better time than this. The players are gelling and their improved work-rate is paying off. When we begin to see goals coming in from different sections of the pitch, there is renewed hope of regaining a good position at the top four. Let us keep our fingers crossed as the players contribute their part for their countries. The two weeks break for the others should strengthen them further.

Posted by Femi on 11/08/2011

Great article. I strongly feel that the team has more depth and variation now than we have had in the last few seasons. Chamakh, park, Ox all with room to improve and it's only Gervinho's first season and he will get better. With Wiltshire and Diaby Coming back soon and Sagna early next year, God forbid Ashavin finding some old form, then we will be unplayable.

Posted by Vinay on 11/08/2011

Terrific writeup. The ones who wrote us of as early as august suddenly seem to think we can do wonders again. Arsenal's season will be determined from now till jan as we play close to 15 games. This period could make or break the season. We may not win anything this season but we do have a team which will give it all and i believe that's all we can expect from any team. Special mention to Arteta, he was always class, when he played at PSG, Celtic, Everton or now for us. We are fortunate to have him play for us, because he brings in the calmness and assurance we so desperately needed in the middle of the park.

Posted by Pearson on 11/08/2011

Robin van Persie is NOT going to get injured this week, he is GOING to score a goal as well, and maybe J Terry will do another face plant to expedite this event and entertain the England fans.
Superb effort from the squad and the whole team after that abysmal start, AND two clean sheets in a row!!!
GUNNERS!

Posted by Raza on 11/08/2011

Great article as always. I am glad you have singled out Arteta for praise; he's giving us that defensive stability, and gets through an immense workload at the center as you say. I am also really impressed by Jenkinson; if anything our main worry at the back lies at left back. Personally, I can't wait for Sagna and Wilshere to return; with things looking up as they are, hopefully we can sign a couple of really good players in January(cover for RVP please Arsene). And its high time the media and everyone stopped talking about Nasri; we have a good replacement in Gervinho, and he wasn't even that consistent or that good, with the exception of the 1st half of last season.

Posted by kutti on 11/08/2011

well said mr. Sam nice article.. My wishes to all arsenal players for their injury free international matches.. Finger crossed

Posted by GunnerZ_84 on 11/08/2011

@geoffrey ,i think u meant Alex song is underrated, agree with everything else u said

Posted by Akinboy88 on 11/08/2011

There's sumtin i lyk with this team, this team is nt a one man team, the buildup stats from the bak and then moves rapidly forward. I dnt think Gervinho can be stopable wen he finally setles wit EPL patern, Arsenal is improving wit every games, lets just hope the momentum goes on and on,up gooners!

Posted by Tamwa on 11/08/2011

Good article. I believe and always believed that Arsenal will bounce back. We getting there. We had a problem last year be cause our team had four players that did not want to be there [Nasri, Fabregas, Denilson and Bendner). I hope Diaby also comes back, and improves his game, otherwise Coquelin (brilliant young man) will be ahead of him. Let's not forget that Wenger is busy polishing the likes of Chamberlain and Miyachi. However, despite out improvements, I think we need a Hazard or Gotze type of player, not only will we be more dangerous, we will also be a team to beat in every game, considering imminent injuries that our team might have in the last run of the season. AND most importantly is to beat Man City - to of course stop their good run - just in case they go unbeaten.

Posted by OnDGooner on 11/08/2011

You've written very admirably without hype or over-confidence with a tinge of humility which I found lacking in WS's statement that he can see us go all the way without getting beat again for the season! That was just sheer crass and he must learn to be humble as these words have a way to bite back!!

Thank you for your decent article as it feels so good to be supporting our team whole-heartedly once again! the miseries of the 1st few weeks of the new season are almost nearly confined to the annals of history. It was horrible, even I had nightmares!!!

Posted by henri on 11/08/2011

I dont think V.Persie is at big risk of getting injured, he no longer goes in for rush challenges, that said, he could do with a rest, thankfully Arteta never goes, that should help, also Arshavin is fresh, I think he will have alot to offer this season

Posted by Thomas on 11/08/2011

Awesome article Sir Sam!!!!!

We are hoping arsenal to keep the momentum till the last season match and also hope to win a silverware after 7 years. By this 'new', team's form, i assure people will come all the way to Emirates just as they did in Highbury with just one change. We all will hope to see Van Persie, Verminator, Walcott and Per 'massacre' Mertesacker rather than our legends Pires, Bergkamp or Henry.

Posted by Emeka Obi Esq. on 11/08/2011

Great game we had on saturday. It was good to see Vermaelen return to his best of form. I am of the opinion that our two main center backs should be Vermaelen and Koscielney. Mertacsaker is slow and should be stand by. Let us all pray and hope there will be no injuries during the international break and that the good form will continue.

Posted by Ed on 11/08/2011

It was only a month or so ago that everyone - including me, a little - was wondering whether Wenger was finally past it, and whether the team needed someone different. Looking back, however, I can't think why we were thinking that.

In August, having lost Cesc, Nasri, Clichy, Wilshire and Gibbs to either transfers or injury, we faced Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester United, drawing one and losing two. Given the form and quality of these three teams, and ignoring that goal difference, I can't believe that anyone expected otherwise.

Following those results Wenger wisely (if somewhat late) invested in some replacement players. Of the players bought this year five found themselves as first team regulars from the word go, playing with players they didn't know, many of them in a league they were unfamiliar with. Is it really a surprise they took a while to gel? In hindsight, no, it isn't.

I don't want to jinx it, but I think we're back where we should be. Next stop, 6th place.

Posted by guner on 11/08/2011

Agree. arsenal bcome from strength to strength. i think we have great chance to sign either hazard o Goethe. With this 2 guys plus Pato i think we will be unstopable not only at Premiere league but maybe europe. And we will hev great chance to beat barca.Ops.. one minute I like Gervin hairstyle..

Posted by willliam on 11/08/2011

I think this season is the most exciting season for us Arsenal fans. We have been near the top for so many years that sometimes being at the lower half and then moving quickly to 7th is more exciting than a title run-in. I'm now always really excited about the upcoming games and also add to that, I'm excited about the games of all 6 team above us. Previously, because we were so high, all I cared about were games of Arseanl, Inted and Chelsea (them being above us)

Not sure if that makes sense that I should want Arsenal to be lower but this slow and steady climb to the top is so so much more exciting....

Posted by Annapolis Gunner on 11/08/2011

Good article. After the Blackburn game, I was ready to write off the season - write off as expecting a 7th/8th place finish. I never expected a relegation battle as some pundits loved to hyperbolize. However, now I have confidence that we will finish in the top 3, and have a chance at some silverware. I'm trying to temper my confidence, but the confidence of the players, and the confidence of the fans is contageous, even for somebody sitting on his couch in America like me. Despite periodic lapses, the defence looks vastly improved. I am a fan of Merteseker, and hope Wenger rotates he, Verms and Koscielny. His positioning and experience offer a lot and he will continue to improve as he gets used the the English game. Despite the number of games in December, our biggest test, barring injury, will be coping without Gervinho during the ANC. Without scoring a lot of goals he has been great as a creator. On his best day Arshavin can fill that spot, but that's not often enough

Posted by lapardo on 11/08/2011

happy u didnt mention ian wright name in "the higbury arsenal".that guy seems like he has lost any faith of arsenal.i always think arsenal can win the league this season.never in my life i give up on my gunners

Sam, as usual great summary and insight... always a good read. Watching the West Brom game this weekend really made me appreciate Arteta. Often times, especially in the beginning of the season, it seemed like there was no one to take charge of the ball and always be available to take control - even if to reset. This is something Cesc always did and something I believe Jack will provide for years to come. Its nice to have a general in the midfield, even if it isn't as a true creator role.

Keep up the good work - Jeff

Posted by Nick on 11/08/2011

I think this team is starting to look more like a classic Arsenal team than we did when Cesc was here. With Cesc, everything had to run through him. Now, at least while Jenkinson and Santos/Gibbs are in the side we have width, and actually hit crooses from the touchline into the box. Everybody works hard, nobody rags out the ref and gets a yellow card either for the past few weeks. Just work, work ,work. the forwards are defending, everybody's defending, and we are blessedly free of "special" players like Cesc and Nasri. I like this team a lot. Hope Jack and the other youngsters don't rag on the ref like they got used to doing earlier this year, makes for a better game when they don't.

Come on Arsene, teach them who knows best!!....Goooo Gooooners!!!

agree with u...
RvP was ____________(add any superlatives) for past few weeks, but our midfield is getting better n better....
their understanding also gets better....
Arteta adds some defensive stability for Song and other back 4...
i just hope our players can come back with injury-free...
i dont expect wenger to spend in january if our recent form keeps going...
defence and misfield is not a worry anymore, but i worry if RvP gets injured....
hopefully PCY and chamakh can improve to cover for RvP...
if not wenger should spend for a striker....

It is a big point Mr. Limbert. It shows the team is one unit and cohesive and team work is more important than disgruntled stars.
I believe our weak point is Walcott on the right who has really not improved much since he arrived. His speed is in a way his downfall since he relies on it too much and plays with his head down, unaware of his surroundings. Our team is unbalanced in attack, strong on the left but erratic on the right.

Posted by Pat on 11/09/2011

Very good read but missing one major point.. our outside backs are shaky at best. I was a defender myself and played pro ball for 2 years in the U.S. (i know not that impressive but I can spot a good and bad defender) and I just dont see it from Santos. He does well going forward at times but leaves huge gaps in the back, is out of position a lot and his 1v1 defending is decent at best. Jenkinson works hard but is not ready for this level (que Man U game). Sagna is solid but hurt. I thought losing clichy hurt us the most of all that left this past summer...

Posted by Bruckyboo on 11/09/2011

Sam, i've been looking at the fixtures going into December and i think we should definitely be in top four come January. I see Newcas' havin City, Man U,Chelsea back to back. Tottenham has Chelsea on Dec 22 and thats one scattering of points that'll help us. Their other games prior to that are 50/50 and they should win and lose points. Jan 3. City v L'pool, Jan 4.Newcastle V Man U are games that should help with our ascent. Our first real dog fight is v City on Dec 18 but prior to that is Chelsea v City on Dec 12. We just hav to keep winning our games and i'm sure the confidence will be there by which time City will see a different Arsenal.

Love the article I remember just about a month ago our Gooners were 17th in the league now they are tied for sixth. I have said it over and over, when Arsenal is fit they are the best team in the world. The confidence with them is through the roof and watching them play this past weekend was special you see the joy . I love the pairing of Verm and Kos in the middle of the D . Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta are phenomenal with one another . When JW comes back I can see A.R. on the left or the right and keep JW and MA in the middle as for RVP need we say more he has scored in almost every game and is leading by example . I can't wait till we play City and we win our group in the CL. There is a shirt on Arsenal shop dot com and it says we don't buy players we make them .

i agree that the team is moving back to where we want them to be, and i also agree that fitness is a key, especially for rvp. frankly, at this moment if he goes down, there is no replacement. chamakh, who looked capapble when he first joined has been frankly awful in the last year, and park showed nothing in hi start in the champs league to suggest he's even better than bendtner! a quality striker in jan is a necessity.
talking of injuries, we must remember we've not had a full back four this season. with sagna and gibbs out we've been struggling at wing-back and will continue to do so until sagna returns especially.
wenger made a complete muck-up of the offseason, only partially redeemed at the deadline, which left us in total shambles in august. hopefully he'll make up for it in jan.
aw is back on track and we can now hope for a productive rresty of season.

I like how different players are covering for one another. i think that's even more impt than being on form, and great teams really typify the statement. i hope chamakh finds the form that arsenal bought him for, cuz i think he can and should really be much better. that west brom win was amazing, i really thought i was seeing the old arsenal again.

It's a good feeling to be winning again, fellow gunners. We no longer have to watch Arsenal with our heads half-buried in our hands, wondering if we'd escape with even a point after 90 minutes. Soon, we'll be up there where we belong. As Sam said the other day, keep the faith!

Mr Sam u are something else you have raised our hope again and i strongly believe that this present Arsenal team is going places, let just hope and pray that we maintain this form.prof pls get a striker and a creative midfielder in January, RVP pls play safe we need u badly now u can't afford to get injury now.watch out for d best team in world.IN ARSENE WE TRUST. GO GUNNERS

The article is very elaborate and in-depth.I pray for less injury issue to the present team and hope that Wenger will sign during January window opening one or more experience attaker to compliment Van Persie upfront. It feels good to watch the team play now with their current form after the last two games especially with Chelsea. Ashravin needs a psychology to work on him cause of his form which is not due to fitness issue but to psyche him up for the challenge which will be advatageous to the team both for scoring and giving assist and Chamark also if the Professor fails to buy strikers in January. All the same l still have an admiration for Wenger and hope that he continue to work on the team and make them a winning team like their predecessor. At the end of the season l hope that Arsernal will have any of the other cup, either FA Cup or Carling Cup to show for moral boasting for next season league cup challenge.

Chamakh is a good player , at the moment his confident is low due to lack of playing time.More games and up it goes. However I note that whenever he plays the ball rearly comes airbound to him in the box, which is a failure of Arsenal to cross the ball. Jenkenson does but to whom, the forwards are always late. Like to see those crosses in when Chamakh plays. Yes Sam the confidence is BACK, team spirit /chemistry also, so we are heading in the right direction, BUT do you think AW will buy Gotze,Hazard or another forward in January, seeing that no other has proven to be challenging RVP or to take over if needed(injury).Last, your commentry is always refreshing and continues to lightened dark moments.
Gooners always.

Thanks for your article Sam, its based on facts and I love it. I however want to say that Arsenal has the third best diffence at home. We have conceeded only 4 goals at home. There are only two teams better than Arsenal. Swansea conceeded only 1 at home and Man City 2. Away goals may seem so bad but if we take away those ManU 8 devilish goals and 2 own goals at Blackburn we could experience a consoling effect. That may be, our diffence is better now and so is every department and it can only mean happiness for the the team and supporters.

It's really a good time to be a gonner. i am loving every minutes of it. I agree with the person that said Alex song is being underated. I ll say he is the most underated player in the premier league as he does'nt get mentioned often. Left to me, i ll take him after Van persie. He was the one i missed the most at old trafford & the result would have been different had he featured that day. He was also played out of position against spurs and we lost, but he still came forward to deliver that killer ball to Ramsey. The only game Song has played in his position that we lost this season was against blackburn, and that was down to hard luck as we helped them scored two of their goals.Song brings grit and steel to the midfiled and i wonder if there is another defensive midfielder in the league that made more interception of opponents ball than Song.He is hard to get by and i'm always terrified anytime he is not on the pitch as frimpong and coquelin are not ready yet. LONG LIVE KING SONG.

God bless you all I LOVE GUNERS and i will remain guners fans till i DIE.

I so happy,an old arsenal spirit is back.I miss an old arsenal playing style and also the player like Henry, Viera, Pires, Bergkamp, Ljunberg, Gilberto, campbell, miss them all...but now,new Arsenal look in good form.Game by game, the improvement, also confident is more high-up in this squad. At this time, arsenal must maintain their teamwork until last season.GOOO GOONERR,DONT SEE BACK ANYMORE.

David Young Sam Limbert: My retirement as a football player came at the age of 14 due to being rubbish, it's fair to say I was more Kaba Diawara than Thierry Henry, so I turned my focus to writing about the game. I'm a lifelong Arsenal fan and have been lucky enough to watch the team across England and Europe. My favourite Gunner of all time is Dennis Bergkamp, and the 2004 Invincibles is the greatest side I've ever seen in English football. I try to be positive about the Arsenal as it's the hope that keeps us going! Follow me on twitter @SamsMatchReport.
